All my gopro footage is shot in 1080p hd. The problem is when I input it into imovie it automatically changes the dimensions. I click the "full size" box when adding the footage to imovie and it still shrinks it. The main problem with this is it doesn't allow me to upload a 1080p video to youtube. The best quality I can get is 480p on youtube. If I upload the footage without putting it into imovie I can get 1080p quality on youtube with no problem. Anyone know how to upload 1080p videos to youtube after editing them in imovie? Thanks.
I've always had the same problem. And when I upload to youtube after iMovie the quality even gets worse. I have never been able to find a way around this so I'm in the same boat as you but I know exactly how you feel.
I am just wondering if my only way around this is to upgrade to final cut pro. Considering I just make casual edits with my gopro I don't need final cut pro and would like to save the 300 bucks
I think you'll be able to get a demo for final cut for like 30 days. Try it out and see if the quality stays. I've never done this cause my edits are also just casual so it wasn't a huge deal to me; just a pain in the but. I'm not sure if sony vegas would be any cheaper?
