Theyre great for practicing smoke tricks in class. You can get them with almost zero nicotine in the cartriges so you are only breathing water vapor

Still not sure what to think about this new craze. I think if you are trying to quit smoking then it's a pretty good alternative. However, when I see teenagers doing it to look cool I find it pretty lame. I haven't really heard anything definite on the health side of it though.

Almost identical to mine. I just have a slightly bigger battery. It doesn't really leave the house too often, mainly just for kicking back while grinding arena caps and the drive to/from the mountain

Can smoke them inside where smoking is banned (at least in my state). Beats going outside in the freezing cold in the winter. (I don't smoke but can see the upside to these)

Tar isn't the only thing that causes cancer, besides E-cigs have hardly been testes on, so it's very much a grey area as of right now.


"A preliminary analysis of e-cigarette cartridges by the FDA identified that some contain tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs), known cancer-causing agents. The FDA's analysis also detected diethylene glycol, a poisonous and hygroscopic liquid, in one of the cartridges manufactured by Smoking Everywhere and nicotine in some cartridges claimed to be nicotine-free.

Further concerns were raised over inconsistent amounts of nicotine delivered when drawing on the device. In some e-cigarettes, "Tobacco-specific impurities suspected of being harmful to humans – anabasine, myosmine, and ß-nicotyrine – were detected in a majority of the samples tested." It is not clear if these chemicals were detectable in exhaled vapour."

Drexel University recently completed the first comprehensive study on the effects of vaping, and the effects of second hand vapor. The results?

By reviewing over 9,000 observations about the chemistry of the vapor and the liquid in e-cigarettes, Dr. Burstyn was able to determine that the levels of contaminants e-cigarette users are exposed to are insignificant, far below levels that would pose any health risk. Additionally, there is no health risk to bystanders. Proposals to ban e-cigarettes in places where smoking is banned have been based on concern there is a potential risk to bystanders, but the study shows there is no concern.

As for the Diethylene glycol claim from the FDA that Lawrence just posted:

I really hate throwing around the term healthier when we are talking about inhaling nicotine. But vaping is most definitely less harmful than smoking a traditional cigarette.

I was never a PAD smoker, but I certainly enjoyed a cig or two a day, and would burn them down when drinking. Since I switched to vaping, I have had 1 cigarette in ~4 months for nostalgia's sake and I found the taste and smell absolutely disgusting. Never again.

I think its fucked up that some states allow the sale of vaping products to minors, however if you are a smoker who is looking for a less harmful alternative, I would recommend a vape all day.

Thats a Kanger Protank clone from FastTech. I've never used a Protank, but the folks on r/e-cig seem to like them.

Besides, one paper is not conclusive especially a study that compares levels of various toxins in e-cigs with threshold limit values (TLVs) which have been published by the American Council of Government Industrial Hygienists using that are generally viewed as not health protective.

In addition, as noted in the report, TLVs are for occupational exposures. Occupational exposures are generally much higher than levels considered acceptable for ambient or population-level exposures.

Occupational exposures also do not consider exposure to sensitive subgroups, such as people with medical conditions, children and infants, who might be exposed to secondhand e-cigarette emissions.

Finally, even when setting allowable occupational exposures, regulatory agencies like OSHA often establish tighter standards than TLVs, and often those tighter levels have been criticized as not being health protective.

Solid points all around. I would never use one, because I hate nicotine buzz, but love the taste. I really hope addicted smokers use this rather than smoking in public, as it can be annoying to people in the area.

I've been doing a shit load of research into this, and i don't even smoke. little research has been done on ecigarettes. you are inhaling vapor which can still be really bad for you. studys reported that vaping for just five minutes made breathing more difficult. The propylene glycol in the nicotine solution can cause respiratory inflammation and increase asthma risk. this is quoted from the study. nicotine refills in various flavors found several were toxic to human cells, primarily due to the flavorings, and because of contamination by the heating filament, some vapor contained tiny particles of silica and metals such as tin, nickel, and chromium. Nine of eleven elements found in e-cigarette vapor were at an equal or higher concentration than that found in conventional cigarette smoke.

the evidence to date strongly suggests ecigarettes beat smoking, but they are most definitely not safe.

If I were you I would not use a disposable. They really don't give you the hit you will want if you are used to smoking cigs. Plus the investment in a good v/v v/w or something simple like an ego style battery will be way more rewarding, and you will probably have a higher success. I have been off cigarettes now for 32 days, and will never look back after starting to vape. I am obsessed, to tell you the truth. I currently use a Innokin SVD which is v/v v/w. The wonderful thing about vaping is that the selection of flavors disassociates yourself from that tobacco smell and taste, though many companies make multiple tobacco flavors if you are into that. Some companies are extremely creative in the flavors they come up with. I get my flavors from http://www.mtbakervapor.com/ who have flavors from bacon to the old HI-C flavor ecto-cooler. Not to mention they are super cheap, and have awesome customizations of your e-liquid. Vaping gets a little confusing, and there is a lot to take in at first with all the mods, devices, atomizers, cartomizers, clearomizers, atomizers drip tips and such. Sorry if I lost you already. The great part is you can wean yourself down from say, 24mg. of nicotine all the way down to 0mg. then after a while you may be still addicted to the oral fixation of vaping but, I guess technically not addicted to nicotine anymore. I have heard to many success stories to doubt the safety of these products, and the day I quit was the first day of the rest of my life. I feel great. Now to show you my setup... first I will inform you on the flavors I vape.
Honey crisp apple, Banana nut bread, whipped cream, freckled lemonade(strawberry lemonade), pink lemonade, moo juice(strawberry milk), wild cherry, georgia peach, coffee, cucumber mint, ecto cooler, plum, USA select(tobacco), vanilla, and fruity hoops(fruit loops). My favorites have to be moo juice, whipped cream, and freckled lemonade. I use a 50/50 pg/vg (propylene gycol/ vegetable glycerin) mix with 18mg of nicotine. Any disposable if you want to try one just to see what it's about. Blu's are expensive, I'd recommned this channel called RealVapeReview on YouTube, if you're interested in seeing some solid and comprehensive reviews of vaping products done by a funny chubby redneck named Dan. He recommends ECSmokes mainly. Don't know if they offer disposables.

Thanks for the input. I wouldnt say I'm addicted to cigarettes. I just like smoking whether its weed, cigar or cigarette. I think a ecig would be nice.

Fuck that, I actually quit smoking because of these things. So have numerous friends and a handful of family members, I am definitely all for e-cigs.

I have done quite a bit of research on the subject. The benefits outweigh the negatives. It's great for someone who still wants to still smoke something but not the harmful effects of a cig. Hands down the 4 ingredients in Eliquid are better then the 4,000 ingredients in a cigarette. That's not debatable. I am a recent type 1 diabetic and I had go quit smoking. I was up for hours doing research on vaping health concerns and the ecig industry as a whole. I would recommend it to anyone who is trying to quit.

I think they're kinda different here in the UK, but I used this one.
The filter is the battery which lasts for ages, and you can buy extra of the actual cigarette end and batteries.

They're pretty good, the only thing was, as I could smoke them inside, I found myself doing it a lot more than I smoked regularly, so I just went cold turkey. Which was really fucking hard. But three months later and I am going strong.

Sure, it's safer, but while i'm actually quitting smoking and not getting pissed off from withdrawal symptoms, and I still get to smoke something and function completely normally. You, you'll have the worst time or your life for weeks, have fun with patch sickness.

Its pretty killer for a cheap RBA. I paid around $10 for the atomizer and enough materials to build dozens of coils. I got it originally just to test flavors before I filled up a tank, but now I use it more when I'm out and about. With the right wick you can hold a pretty good amount of liquid.

I've often found myself wondering exactly how "safe" it is to inhale water vapor on a constant basis. I'm not saying it's going to happen, but I'll try to hold my tongue if there is a sudden spike in cases of pulmonary edema in this country.
