Im looking for a new set of shoes for trail running, I had a pair of these not at all made for running sanuk style slippers, which i freaking loved, i ran in those with no socks, never got any blisters or anything, gripped everything very well, just the right amount of/lack of padding. then went to New Balance minimus trail shoes, used those for about a year until they got too torn up, now im using a running shoe thats got a bit more padding and support and i dont like it, especially for trail running, i like having that flexible thin sole feel of the trail, and i always feel like im gonna roll my ankle since your foot sits higher.
if possible id like something with a tiny bit more coverage than a normal tennis shoe, something that has some coverage above the ankle, so i can use them for backpacking and hiking. i saw a guy last week with a pair of moccasin/chukka/desert boot looking shoes, forgot what the guy said they were called, but he said they had a real thin sole, fit snug, and said he'll do 10+ mile runs and multi day backpacking trips with them. they looked like exactly what i want. im open to normal shoes too, but all the running/hiking shoes with more coverage seem to have too much support and too thick of a sole.
any ideas?
