I just got back from a Salomon test session This post has nothing to do with Salomon. While waiting for it to start I grabbed a set of Atomic Theorys (theories?) and had a few runs on them. Amazing. Very poppy for an all mountain ski, more than happy switch, and holds an edge real well, felt really stable throughout. Shame the park features were closed. Didn't get a chance to try out the Panic, but it's a pretty similar ski, narrower underfoot, so a little quicker edge to edge. Maybe a bit more nimble in the park. They were mounted standard, so not sure what they'd be like centred, probably better off at something like -1.
Then tried out the Infamous. As I've got punx, I was expecting something a bit similar, but they seemed a little quicker to turn, still okay on piste, not quite as grippy edge to edge as the Theory, but still spot on for a park ski (despite not getting to go in the park with them...). The edges were razor sharp, and I found that a bit of a pain, as i kept cathcing edges buttering. I detuned my punx slightly for the same reason - they're a park ski after all, not a carver.
Anyway, long story short, Atomic are killing it this year. The Theory is an amazing ski for people who probably spend most of the day on piste, but want to venture into the park or venture pretty far off piste when they can. Also cheaper than Salomon Remix...
