Saw on Unofficial, seems like a hectic story thats going to develop worse.
"More than 300 people are “snowed in” at Mt Hutt Ski Area after a winter storm rolled into the area. Ski area officials had been keeping an eye on the storm but the weather moved in much faster than predicted. High winds, drifting snow and zero visibility forced the road to close around mid afternoon trapping the remaining guest for the night.
“A combination of new snow blowing around everywhere and wind gusts of up to 45kmh meant visibility along the upper section of the access road deteriorated to the extent we closed the road completely,” said the ski area manager James Mackenzie.
“Guest safety is of paramount concern and we’re continually assessing the conditions. We won’t rush to get people down until visibility improves.”
