i agree with ^this guy, my kids are definately doing some structured coaching of some sort at first, probably racing.
i raced from around 5 or 6 till i was 12 and i thank my parents every day for it, it makes you a waaay better skier later on in whatever else you decide to do.
i'm now transitioning more to BC skiing and basically just ride park when the snow is shitty, i feel super comfy in the gnar already and i can thank racing for it
also racing is actually fun as fuck (before it gets too serious) and anyone who says differently hasn't tried racing (on a nice course, with proper skis, after a proper course inpection, so you can actually ski to your limit)
i compare it to go-kart racing; just raw speed and crazy g-forces on every turn, having to think quickly and plan your line, it's super exciting
i think all skiers should try out a nice pair of race skis sometime and i bet it'll put a smile on your face
