Interchangeable FKS parts

I have a pair of pivot 15s from back in the day. I already replaced one of the broken heelpieces with a fks 155, but now the other heel piece isnt registering a din so now i need to scope out a replacement for that one.

my question. If i have the increasingly hard to find 15 din model, can I get away with using a 18 din or 14 din heel piece if thats all i can find for replacements?

second question: my other fks 180 pros have the plastic half moon piece. will i have to worry about breaking this piece? I have a tendency to break the shit out of bindings, so should I look into getting metal half moon pieces for these bindings?

I can't see any issue with it. Physical dimensions ought to be identical and that's all that should matter.

Bear in mind that "10" on one heel might not match "10" on the other so it would be worth your time to get the release force tested if you care about that kind of thing.

Just have em torque tested and ignore what the # says for din. You may need to supply the tech with beer to get him to test them though, because they are frankenbindings.

A liftie around here has heels and toes from three different turntable models on one of his setups; he's not snapped his leg yet, as far as I know. Like someone else said, use whatever combination of parts you like but get them tested if you want assurance.

eBay "skis" then select "Used" and order by price and you'll find old turntable parts that are compatible. Failing that, $40 from Rossi or Look will get you new heel baseplates including narrow brakes and metal half moons.

the 18 din and 14 din heel are the same just different spings. Just make sure your forward pressure is right and your boot soles arent super warn down from draging them across the parking lot and you should be good.
