I live in one of the nicest parts of New Hampshire. I'm within 2 1/2 hours of the best skiing in Maine, NH, and Vermont. I'm 2 hours from Boston which is one of the nicest cities on the east coast and in the country. I'm and hour from the seacoast (which has Hampton, even though its shitty as hell,but also has gambling). It also has well kept public and private beaches. I pay zero tax. You can keep your shitty reno I'm fine with where I live.

Haha nah man 2 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from skiing?  No you live in the worst part at least Nashua is sort of a Boston suburb and is an hour closer to both the mountains and Boston.  The lakes region is at least close to skiing and still closer to Boston even if its hardly nice.

Portsmouth is OK if you lived there I wouldn't talk shit.

You probably live around Keane which sucks Ive been to your pumpkin festival.  Blows to be you.  2.5 hours from anything that doesn't suck.  Bet you wish you were in Vermont which is a good state (if you find someone who isn't from NH and will say its a better state than Vermont I'll give you a dollar promise you won't VT is bomb and not full of fake hicks.)

You guys aren't even good hicks.  I went to a walmart at 4am to buy a video game in NH and it wasn't open.


You probably have never been to Reno and just think its a dump because of Reno 911.  Hey, I like it being out of fashion and not overrun with tourists.  People from Vegas come up here to bet in the casinos during march madness and stuff because its not overrun.  Plenty of people could crap on Reno and I wouldn't say a peep but not some douchebag on a SKIING website.

If you want anything close to what we have here you have to live in Salt Lake City and deal with the fact people there think its bad to swear or drink caffeine.  Utah is still a chill place I really like it but it has bad cops and you can't even get a real beer unless you go to a special expensive liquor store.  If you are under 21 SLC is probably just as fun a place to live as Reno though.


Reno and Salt Lake City pal thats the only legit cities with real mountains within an hour.  1 hour to skiing and 3 hours is a big difference.  Even here in Reno noone shreds Kirkwood possibly the best Tahoe mountain because 90 minutes is seen as too far.  Mormons or casinos.  Tahoes terrains a little better Utahs snow is a little better.  Take your pick not much between them but no actual full legitimate city in the USA can stack up to either.  (Reno/Tahoe as a whole being a decent sized metro area and sort of a satellite of the Bay makes up for Reno being smallish.)  Im basically the same distance from San Francisco you are from NY or Boston and in a great city.

(Denvers similar but from a strictly skiing pov its like living in Sacramento and not Reno.)

hahahaha Reno? nah man, 1 hour away from skiing is crazy- my times worth way more then that. Does Reno even have a nice part? last time I checked they had no real upper class neighborhoods.. you wouldn't really understand, being a peasant and all

At least Vegas has some nice villas and suites to stay in on weekends when I'm blowing some cash.


You guys live in the worst places possible, Boston and Reno? My winter properties in Vail, Whistler and St Moritz are all ski in ski out. No hour long bullshit...

The fact that you peasants are even arguing about traveling by anything but flight is funny. Why be stuck to one location like Reno and deal with all the downsides? I just hop in my dads heli, fly to the air strip and let the pilot know where we wanna go.



Does Tahoe seriously accept your welfare card? Thats what poverty must look like...

anyway, I gotta go sign off on some 10oz gold bars were bringing to italy for some shopping.

I'm in Plymouth. I'm 20 minutes from Loon and Waterville and 30 from Canon. But I'm WITHIN 2.5 hours of any skiing I want. I used to live in Exeter. Trust me, you and your shitty city are the ones that suck.

New England is New England everyone knows the skiing is average but theres parks and its not the midwest.  WHen living in Boston after college I could only bring myself to drive up 1-2 times a year just wasn't quite worth it to go more.  Doubt if I lived in Boston year round again I'd ever have a season with more than 5 days.  Its fucking east coast skiing and not worth going out of your way for.  I need to be around real mountains.


You live in an isolated armpit but are close to Loon and Waterville.  There is nothing to be ashamed of for that its a better ski location than most.

I can ski squaw in an hour or cutes at Rose in 20 minutes.  Hell of a lot better.

Sorry.  I shouldn't have said that.  Maines worse and the Loaf is way too long a drive.  He started it.  MA is too expensive you need a crazy good job to live there.

Other dude: You ahve it right about me being a peasant.  Oh well, Reno is a nice place to be when funds are limited.  Casino rooms for 30 something bucks a night,  ski passes for 400-500 bucks, high end steak houses with top notch cuts in the 20s, free alcohol since I bet sports, simple things for simple folk dwelling in casinos and skiing steep terrain is as good as it gets to me. $$$ goes far here.  Being a peasant I loathe being nickle and dimed and not getting my money's worth on stuff.

I referenced 2 high schools in Reno with neighborhoods that are as nice as anywhere.  I know the snobby parts of almost all major cities and am comparing them to places where you can't get a house for under a mil.  (Yes I ahve been to and know people from the snobbiest suburbs of Boston, NYC, DC Chicago, SF, and LA that is where I am comparing them to.  You don't think some people want to live a few miles across the CA border?)

FAct is last spring I went skiing in Verb and Chamonix.  Afterwards I did a bit more traveling around Europe to Scandanavia England and Spain obviously it was cool and didn't suck but I pretty much regretted not just posting up in the Peppermill that time.  It would have been nicer and more enjoyable sort of wish I spent all that money on that.

I pitty you if Nashua is your go to spot in NH. Nothin against Reno, but clearly you don't know what you're talking about in terms of NH if you take stabs at the seacoast and keene then back up a shithole like Nashua.

Its the closest part to Boston what more would I know?  Keene was a place people seemed to go just to get drug addictions, I never said anything bad about Hampton Beach/Portsmouth did I?  That specific area north of Newburyport is cool and isn't too different between the 3 NH MA ME. 

Anyways I apologized.  Still I asked the guy who crapped on Reno to find someone not from there who would claim its better than VT and noone has.  Looks like I won the argument. 

Its like disneyworld out here for an adult who skis and wants real terrain and enjoys the laidback west coast culture and having casinos to recreate in especially if youd rather bet a sports game than play slots since you cannot do that in ANY of the other 49 states so I'm glad you enjoyed the detailed lengthy posts about its awesomeness.  Haters got owned.

Lol maines not worse, I live in Farmington which is a nice little college town, 45 minutes from sugarloaf, 50 minutes from saddleback, an hour from Sunday river, hour from lost valley and we have a rope tow mountain with a small park actually in Farmington

I don't crap on VT because VT is my second favorite state in the union. I have a cabin 20 ft from Lake Champlain, my mom lives 30 minutes south of burlington. An Okemo seasons pass was the first season pass I ever owned. S my D. Keep tryning to compare nevada to new england, someone will eventually join your side...or most likely not...

I never compared it to new england slick but keep trying to convince yourself that I am.  There's nothing to compare especially when it comes to skiing the only comparable city to Reno is SLC.  I compared your state to the better one next door after you insulted the best ski city in America just to point out that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.  And you just agreed that VT is better than NH.

Reno guy, just stop. Also by having your only arguments be, other places that you don't live but drive to and use as a excuse to why your place is cool, casinos, and cheap rent/booze aren't very good arguments.

I'm not saying reno is shit, I've just never been a huge Nevada fan, granted the Nevada I know is more northern Nevada which isn't too great in my opinion...

You'd likely rather buy a 10 dollar beer in Park City or Aspen, Id rather get a free one in a casino.

There are only 2 cities in the US less than an hour from real terrain (Reno and SLC)and the guy talking shit wasn't even from one of the better parts of New England anyone trashing Reno who skis is a complete fool.

To a young kid whos parents pay for everything I understand that a place like Vail/Summit CO or PC will be the be all and end and you'll like how nice and fancy everything looks but some of us adults who don't like to ski on Saturdays and want to ski every day when there is powder regardless of day of the week need to make ends meet.  Tough task low cost of living helps.

I have had happy experiences everywhere I like Utah and had good trips there and last year I had a cool couple days at Vail.  I like the Alps too but its inevitably the same thing as Vail financially. Its just another ball game when it comes to $$$ doing those places right and having good accomodation and not sleeping on a couch or your car.  I got a steal on the lodge at vail the next to the lifts in Vail village last year (under 100 a night on hotwire) and it was cool but was 50 bucks a day to park + 30 a day resort fees...80 bucks a day on top of paying for the room.  Getting screwed out of money is a constant theme at my of the best ski resorts.  Tahoe isn't like that.



If you are skiing Tahoe you can easily stay on the CA side of the border and rarely venture into Northern NV.  But don't think you aren't in the greater Reno-Tahoe metro area if your near any mountains and not living in Sac.  So if you dislike Northern NV you are sort of hating on nearby mountains in CA like Squaw since they are part of the same metro area.

Meh I just think you're taking it to seriously, your priorities are different than everybody else regardless of if they're better or not. I personally wouldn't want to live in Nevada granted I wouldn't want to live on the east coast either.

I'm not saying your wrong but the way your trying to defend yourself all high and mightily is just kinda fucking stupid as with really anybody arguing about this.

I want to apoligize to the Live Free or Die state for what I have said earlier.  Massachussets needs a state next to it which isn't overly liberal and has legal fireworks, tax free shopping, decent skiing with shorter drive times than northern VT, and water country/hamption beach (since beachy areas in Mass are kind of lame and full of snobby people.)  I like NH the one time a year I'd go up there its to do something cool.

Please top bragging about having "no taxes", you do pay taxes. The only tax you do not pay is sale tax, which by the way you make up for in higher property/income and other taxes.
