every once in a while my right heel starts to get shooting pain. it's mostly when i bear weight on the inside of my foot. i can invoke the same pain less intensely by pressing the inside of my heel. has anyone else had this problem? it comes and goes pretty infrequently, but i wonder if i should be seriously concerned about a break/fracture.
i used to get that a lot when i played ice hockey. i got some heel supports for my skates (basically little foam wedges) and that helped a bit, then eventually it disappeared and I've never had it since
I've had a similar pain like this before. It occurred after casing a large jump and it turned out I bruised my growth plate in my heel. I got rid of it by not really doing stuff that impacted my heels often and also getting orthotics. They helped a ton.
You might be over pronating, that is known to cause heel pain. You have to consciously try to not walk on the insides of your feet. I used to get that a lot
It could be planter warts or something like that. I had them for a while and I would randomly get stabbing pains in my heels. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantar_wart
