Adjustable Poles

My shitty, short park poles are pretty messed up and I need to pick up some new ones. Just wondering if anyone uses adjustable poles. Seems pretty convenient to have short sticks for the park that you can adjust for pow days but I've seen some kids who can't seem to get them tight enough so one ends up longer than the other halfway down....

Any opinions?

I had a pair of the K2 party poles last season, I never used them in the park, just for groomer skiing and bc skiing. The adjust feature is a nice addition to a pole, but after about 20 days the mechanism stopped lock off the shaft properly, so it had a tendency to get longer/shorter which is annoying. Also they are more expensive than your standard pole, and considering how frequently poles get broken, you've got to question the point of getting a pair unless you really need them, ie. touring/hiking.

Loose the poles all together.  You just don't need them.  Skiing is better and safer without them!

I had a pair of black diamond adjustable poles and they worked great all last Season and the seasons before also I break poles a lot and the top part never breaks only the bottom and you can buy the bottom part for like $10 vs. A whole new set of poles. Then for the back country days or hiking you can extend them and they work great

I don't know about that... Maybe in the park you don't need them but if you use them right they can be pretty helpful and useful outside of the park.

This. I wouldn't be caught dead in the park with poles, however, I am rarely found out of the park without them. Being an ex-mogul skier, I value my poles and understand their importance when I'm just skiing the mountain and whatnot, yet cannot see their relevance in park skiing.

Anyways, when I am using them, I like poles that cost small amounts of money and I like to keep them at a fixed length. Less breakable and more cheaper that way.
