YO! ihe had this PC for just over a year and its running flawlessly until now. theres this error that pops up about every 2 seconds and all it says is "AirGCFG" and then its just blank. is this a simple fix or should i seek professional help. thanks guys

Also, some quick googling tells me it's a wireless router issue, but I don't know if your error is the same as what I'm looking at. I've never dealt with it before, but if you simply google the string you posted up in here there's a lot of threads on tech forums about it that will provide some first-hand accounts and solutions.

Just kidding. But google the error message or what ever is wrong. Odds are multiple other people have had the same problem as you along the way.

If your computer has started freezing since you've installed D-Link AirPlus Router, it's probably because both this file and windows are simultaneously trying to control your Wireless Adaptor.
To stop AirGCFG.exe running at startup, go to Start Menu Run, then type Msconfig.exe, click OK, and select the Startup tab.
Find AirGCFG.exe in the list and uncheck the box next to it.
This will stop the utility running on startup if you're already using Windows' Wireless Network Feature to configure your Wireless Adaptor. If needed, the program can still be run manually via the Start Menu.


sounds easy enough...btw im an IT guy so if this doesn't fix it pm me and we'll work it out

all the google results seem to be errors on startup. mine isint on startup but just randomly starts happening

yeah but once you disable it on startup it won't run unless you manually launch the application...just do the steps

OK, look under the 'command' column and see if you can manually find the path to aircfg.exe

If that doesn't work, try and locate the service from the main OS.

Open the Task Manager (press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC)
>Click "Services" tab
>>Click "Services" button at the bottom
>>>locate the "aircfg" application or look for Anything with DLink in it
>>>>Right Click and go to "Properties"
>>>>>Change Startup Tye to "Manual"

Triple Post but relevant.

If you can't find the aircfg jacked up config option, scroll to the bottom and find WLANAutoConfig. This is your Windows Wireless setup. It will be on Automatic. Change that shit to Manual and restart your computer. If your internet works, you're done and D Link is what you're using. If Internet won't connect, go back in there and turn your WLAN back on.

Pro-tip: if you won't remember the steps to get back there write them down. Shutting of your WLAN means you might not be able to get back to this thread to re read the steps.

Word dog. Just restarted my PC and the Internet is off (I'm on my phone now) so should I just turn it back on and see if the error comes back?

Sorry I was away.

Which one of the two things did you shut off? If the title from your error was what you shut off, then you need to enable WLAN. If couldn't find that error application and shut off WLAN, that means your internet isn't going through a D-Link receiver. If that's the case, pm me and I can help you out if you haven't figured it out.
