Replying to Notification for reply in thread

Not sure if this has been suggested before, but I think it'd be helpful if there was some sort of notification or way to show that someone replied to your post in a thread. I feel like it'd be easier especially in threads like the 'post your latest purchase' where you'd be wading through pages of people talking about someone buying a t-shirt to see if someone had anything to say about what you bought, for example.
Just putting this out there, this is one of the few things that bothers me about newschoolers.
