And Im sure as soon as you clicked into skis or the first time you hit the park you were the best right? Leave the kids who skiboard alone. I did it for years, hell I still own a pair. I think they're sick. I switched to fulls cause I just didnt want to skiboard anymore. Same reason if I wanted to start snowboarding I could. Just cause kids arent as great as the all-mighty snapjibber doesnt mean they cant go out and have fun. Fuck you. Skiboarding, Skiing, Snowboarding, Snowbiking, anything is fun. If they have fun doing it, so be it. Dont call anyone who straps on a pair of boards is a fag. Remember when newschool skiing was gay? Did you ride then or did you start jibbing cause it was the cool thing to do?

Ski boarding, or snowlerblading is definitly a second rate sport. If it was acceptable, it would have made it.. straight up. But it didn't. Why? because the majority of people realize that a: it is far easier than skiing or snowboarding once you catch on to having no tails or noses. B: It has no versitality. You can't ride the mountain effecitvly, you can't nose or tail butter etc. c: it has some deep rooted psychological ugliness about it. Show 10 random nonskier people a switch 5 blunt off a cliff into powder on skis and then on snowblades(if it was possible) and I'm willing to bet that at least 9 of the ten would say that the skiing trick looked far better. Skiing is the only way forward, skiboarders... if you want to, go on and do it... but its like having sex with a goat... sure people somewhere, someplace have probably done it, and I'm sure you could make the argument that it feels good, but be prepared to have the world laugh, ridicule, and insult you... its your choice.

like i've said before. blading is everything people hate about skiing put into one new subcategory of the sport. people hate on short skis, riding with no poles, and ugly hucked unsteezy tricks (or pencilled out spins). that's EXACTLY what blading is, so why are people supporting these bcrew bucket heads?!?!?!

ya, i dunno if "b crew" and the other bladers know but you can go to skiboardsonline.com and chat it up in the forum there with people about snowblading. i just don't know if i'd mention you ride snowblades cuz even people there will tell you to get real boards (there not a huge fan of salomon).

All I wanna say is that anyone who knows anything about where this sport came from (probably not many) shouldn't be bashing on skiboards...that was some seriously progressive shit some of those guys were doing back in the 90s and early 00s, there's no denying it pushed skiing to a whole new level, and anyone who says otherwise either has no idea what they're talking about or is i denial.

I agree with JD on this one. The switch flare was pretty big, and looked gnarly. Haters = morons isn't just coincidence, it's a proven fact. Try it, yeah...it's not nearly as fluid as skiing, but I bet most of you couldn't do it. I used to think that skiboarding was the dopest thing. If they enjoy, then let them enjoy....because they choose a different sport isn't a valid reasonf for hating

i was gonna say gay, but then JD changed my mind completely.. not saying that im gonna go buy a pair of snowblades, but i just have respect for them now

most of them ARE gay tho, and just do it because they think they are cool.. like this kid named dan morgan who bought them and didnt even hit little shit on the side of the trail.. yet somehow he always lost them on the chairlift and couldnt put them back on cause hes dumb and afraid of falling 2 feet with the fuckin bar down..

he skis now, but he still is dumb

skiblading and its close relative, rollerblading look bad and i have never seen anyone who participates in these sports have steeze. maybe cause i dont see much, but prolly not. Skiing, snowboarding, skating, and surfing are sports with maddd steeze

dude, most skiers blow as well. Think of the small % of people that actually rip it up in the park/bc with style and then think of the huge numbers of people you see struggling to link a couple of turns. The number of skiboarders is tiny in comparison to the number of skiers, but the % of both that can actually ride with style is pretty small so of course you're only going to see a few skiboarders with style.

i can't believe this is even being argued. take all skibladers, put them on an island together, and nuke the island. end of the sport and all the embarassment that goes with it... i think that's what it is- i'm embarassed to be riding the same number of planks, similarly shaped boards, and riding the same type of terrain park features as they are. not because they're better than me of whatever, but because people associate it with skiing... and some skiers are afraid that pipe skiing in the olympics would be bad for skiing- skiblading is already making us look lame!

I love how snowlerbladers actually think they're "Carving". The things can't even flex, and look at all the snow being sprayed out from under those things. Its just Really Bad Skiing. My god... it looks like the CSIA!

the only problem i have with snoblading or skiboarding (whatever you want to call it) is that in my opinion it looks stupid. maybe its just that im so used to long skis that the short ones look kind of goofy. i have to say that the videos (minus the first one) were pretty sick.

That first video was made in like 1996. At that point twin tips didn't even exist. And the one kid was right, anyone who wants to see where skiing today came from, watch Iannick B.'s section in the skiboard video Mother's Milk Video Magazine. He was spinning up to 10s with grabs and landing perfect on boards that most people can hardly ride anything buy groomers on. He was also doing blindside switchups. Nicky Adams was doing inline style soul grinds that would be impossible on skis.

Good skiboarding looks like rollerblading. Good skiing looks like snowboarding. Its just different styles. Anyone who has tried to spin skiboards over any big jumps has to have respect. If you're the slightest bit off on the landing, you get destroyed.

Most people would prefer to ski because its a lot easier to land big jumps. I'm not going to hate on them because they're having fun, and I know more kids that be 'cool' by skiing than any other sport right now.
