If you're doing video, the K30 might not be the best choice only because it can only shoot 1080/24 or 1080/30. Meaning no 720/60. This might not be a big issue if you don't plan on doing any slomo, but if you are, it's a drawback.
Nonetheless, the IQ of the sensor is still very good, the video comes out nicely, it has a viewfinder that's right up there with the 7D, it's 100 grams lighter than the 60D, and you can use all that Pentax legacy glass with IS - because it has in-body image stabilization. It shoots a pretty solid 6fps continuous burstrate - which is fine for most sports stuff.
Ultimately, the K30 is an awesome camera, but I'd check out the k50 if you want 60fps - It's virtually the same exact camera in a slightly more contemporary body style.
