Going to roo in 09. Think the drive was about 19 or 20 hours? then got stuck in traffic for another 9 hours down at the fest. Drove the whole thing straight, longest stop was under 10 min.

I've done a lot of stuff in the 7 hour range. I think driving out to illinois from ny and back a few time is some of the longest driving I've done solo.

When you get in the zone rock it out. Bring some tunes, don't be afraid to blast ridiculous radio stations to keep you awake either.

That said, if you feel like you're going to crash and die pull over and sleep. Seriously, it's not worth it. It can creep on you sometimes, be careful out there. Safe journeys

Edmonton to a gravel pit by a golf course south of Saskatoon, back to Saskatoon, then to Calgary.

Had to sample a few sand sources and drop them at a lab in Saskatoon, so I spent about 4 hours doing that, but I left at 5am and got into Calgary just after 9pm. Drove into the sun all day. I was kinda tired after that day.

Kamloops to Nass Camp, 1207km in 12hrs.

Worked the morning, then drove from Takeysie Lake to Revelstoke, then back to Kamloops. Got in at 5am.

I've done Toronto-Calgary 5 or 6 times. It was faster to go through the US (Chicago). Better roads, higher speed limits, cheaper gas too. Winter or summer, I made it in two long days of driving every time, but I was fairly useless the following day due to being really tired. The middle bits (south dakota / north dakota area) were pretty flat, straight, and boring - 5 or 6 hours without needing to touch the steering wheel.

NYC to Calgary took 2.5 days, which is probably a similar distance to what you are doing.

If you go through the US, time it to hit Chicago and surrounding areas at night or else you will be in traffic forever. And bring small change for the weird toll booths (if they still have them).

i drove from SLC to whistler in one go last boxing day. took just over 19 hours. make sure to get a good sleep before and have a fresh supply of music on your ipod.

i've done New Jersey to Colorado, and Colorado to New Jersey about 6 times total.

The best I did was 16 hours in one day, by myself.

Best advice - have lots of playlists made ahead of time, coffee, energy drinks, call old friends and catch up, try and do the drive during the day

Dood I'm from tbay and last month my grandpa died and I had to drive down to Toronto, definitely doable in one trip. If ya need anything in tbay just let me know. I suggest taking the north route because there is usually lest traffic. PM me if you need any help man

Will be makin my second road trip to Florida from Pennsylvania in a couple hours. Last year I moved my uncle to Fort Lauderdale with his F-150 and about a 20 foot box trailer it took 24 hours, stopped in SC for a night. And now ill be driving with my buddy in the Air Force to Fort Walton where he is stationed now. Around 17 hours for this one and were gonna get 'er done in one day, it shouldn't be horrible

yo!

I drive from vermont to thunder bay every summer, by myself for the last 3. its a cool drive once you get passed the sault. just a bunch of small hick towns but you get to drive through some cool terrain with unreal views!

I usually drive from vermont to sudbury in 1 day. and then sudbury to thunder bay the next. with stops included each stint is about 12 hrs.

pretty boring by yourself... but bring a variety of music, smokes if ya smoke, a skateboard or something fun you can cruise around on for 5 minutes here and there at stops along the way.

bring plenty of water.

sault st marie has a pretty fun skatepark too thats not very far off the highway.

also make use of ontario parks along the way when you need a piss break. piss breaks on the lake are just awesome haha.

NYC to New Orleans. Took me a day and a half after stopping for the night at a really sketchy truck stop near the Tennessee/Georgia line. Like 5 different hookers woke us up asked if anyone was looking for a 'date' that night.

New York to SW Colorado. SW Colorado to SF and back

I will do an up and back to Denver every once in a while for doctors vists. That's 12 hours of driving for me Leave around 4 in the morning and get back at around 2 in the morning. Best advice Trail Mix, Coffee, and cigs if you do smoke. I don't smoke cigs any more so I chase the coffee with more coffee

From Portland OR, to Sacramento to pick up a trailer full of skis, then straight through to Denver, CO. Stopping in SLC and Fort Collins along the way.

Don't even know how many hours it was. Just know it was bruuutal.

12 hour is about the magic number for me. It really depends on the roads and how long the days are.

this is my longest straight drive. 3350 km through the mountains. took two and a half days. brutal.

well i've only had my license for 3 months now but i just drove from NJ (where i live) up to my Vermont house where im staying tonight, about 5 hours with traffic and tomorrow. I'm driving another 3 hours to Burlington Vermont to visit University of Vermont and Champlaign thus Monday im driving all the way back to New Jersey which is about 7-8 hours. :|

All i do is talk my mom who i'm visiting colleges with or just listen to music. LOUDLY.

That's two cents. but w/e

Ionno, I've done 14 hours non stop but I'm getting older now and much rather fly those kinds of distances.

Get a good nights sleep and stop at a cheap hotel if you get too tired. Easy as that. Its not worth driving when you're super drowsy and shit

made it from SLC to Burlington, VT in about 50 hrs and only stopped once, so basically two back to back stretches of 24 hrs of driving, i was with another person though so we could switch off and sleep in the car

You've got about 1400 km to drive to Thunder Bay, most of it is highway, shouldn't take you more than 13 hours. you'll be fine, although if you drive too fast and get caught, OPP will take everything. But once you hit the prairies, try to find the less traveled routes (I can let you know the best ones in Alberta) and you can rip 150km/h all the way from Saskatchewan to Banff. A buddy of mine drove from Saskatchewan to Vancouver in 11.5 hours. Grab some cans of Red Bull and crank some tunes. Sounds like a fun road trip. You going to school in Kamloops?

probably 1300 miles on my own. with other drivers / family, from the atlantic to the pacific (halifax to vancouver), which has to be upwards of 3000 miles.

I drove from Oklahoma City to Carlsbad California without stopping and it took about 18 hours. Rode an amtrak train from OKC to Washington DC a few months ago and I was on the train for 2.5 hours, it was a nightmare...
