tl;dr Do I ditch my small ass school and try out a bigger one?
Hey guys, I have a hard decision to make and could use some insight.
School starts in about 10 days, and I'm going into my Junior year. I currently go to a Class C school which means its really small. I have 80 kids in my grade, and a little less than 400 in the entire school. I've been in this school system my whole life, so I've known everyone for about 10 years now. When I walk through the halls I recognize everyone.
Over the years I've became friends with some, and then had those friendships fade away. I always have a few friends in my classes I can talk to, but I really only have 1-2 good friends that I can kick it with outside of school.
I also have no options with the ladies. There is really only 2-3 I'd like a relationship with, and after being friends with them for 10 years it just isn't going to happen. They think of me as a friend, and I think of them as a friend and no way in hell I'd get out of the friend zone.
I work a seasonal, summer job in a corn field. I've done it for 4 years now, and I actually really like it. The work is super shitty, but you choose who you work with (Groups of 5) and its a great way to meet people. I now have 5 friends that I constantly hang out with that I met from this job. They all go to a different school.
So here is the actual question. Should I switch to a giant Class A school for a semester? I want to more than just for the social aspect. It would be a much better education as my school doesn't offer shit for classes. I really want to the experience of a normal, bigger school, just to know what it is like. It would be so much different from my current school, and something I might really wish I had done when I'm older.
I already have 5 really good friends at this school, and I'm friends with another 5-6 people just not as tight. I also know a solid 20, so I'd have people to talk to in my classes.
I also met a "Friend with Benefits" while in the cornfield, and she goes to this school too. She's a solid 8.5 and way better then I could ever do at my current school.
So, would it be a good thing to try for half a school year? I know I would miss a lot of people at my current school, but I would still live in the same house so If I can still hang out with my old friends whenever. It would be a lot better education wise, but would switching back halfway through the year screw up my credits, because my schools curriculum may be slightly different? Would adjusting to this new gigantic school with 3000 kids be easy? Or does is it kinda shitty going to such a huge place?
I'm just bored right now, and I need to decide on this soon. Sorry I wrote so much, I tend to do that when I have nothing else to do.
