I pretty much didn't want Frenchy to be able to make it so here it is. I got in two days last year due to injury, here's to a better season for everyone.
The new round bar that you made is so awesome. Parks have been as good as ever this year even though the weather hasn't been great. Only suggestion is making the landing a little better on the top two rails, but i haven't been up since the 26th so it might have been fixed.
Stinger: Big Red, unbow, DFD-Z rail, 32 flat (kinda up), round down rail (with options to get on), new lift tower flat, Jump, close-in flat Z rail.
Tom's: Flat Box (not open until Saturday after Girls Rock the Park event), Lift tower flat (urban on), round rail down, double barrel down (urban on), pole jam, jump (his and hers line), roller at the end.
A couple reasons, the biggest being that the cap broke (which is why there's that blue barrel in the front now) and unless the jump was higher than the rail it wouldn't really work as a straight on feature. Also, it's a good feature to learn side entry on, now that we have other features as a "first time" feature the lift tower can become more of a progression feature and learning side entry on it is easy because of it's size and because it's round (you can kinda roll up on top of it instead of having to worry about catching tips). On another note, today was the first time EVER that it actually behaved and went in in under 30min (we've spent hours on it before), so pretty happy about that, haha.
rebuilt the close in z and the jump. fixed everything else the best we could without stripping and starting over. it'll be warm today, so hand work will be done to patch up kickers.
friday, we will add more rails in preparation for TAFT on sunday. get stoked.
is it just me or does the lift tower seem kinda sticky this year? i love it when its uber slippery and you can slide it wicked slow. great for learning tricks
It's 1pm-3pm on Stinger, $5 entry fee (might be a free t-shirt, I don't know), course design is roughly drawn up (we try not to release those things though since things can change...as of right now one of the rails isn't even made yet, haha), we'll build the course Friday and clean it up Saturday morning. Colorado Ski Shop has a bunch of prizes, usually it's a Top 3 kinda thing, but there's also usually a bunch of random stuff we give out too. It's gonna be fun.
Tom's got a rebuild yesterday, feedback a has been positive. Stinger was slated for tomorrow, snow pushed it to Friday...but it might get pushed to next week cause of timing on the snow (we can't drive cats on stinger on powder days). Looking at a foot+ of snow between tonight and Friday morning, screw park skiing, come shred freshies!
It literally just got bigger on Monday...it probably won't be able to get much bigger than it is. However, it does need more pop (which will happen in a few days).
If you missed yesterday, you kinda failed, best day of the season. Don't miss today, gonna be almost just as fun. We're gonna dig out all the features this morning before lunch, so don't be scared.
That being said, more snow=no Stinger rebuild today. Might not be for a bit because of vacation week next week. We'll see.
Yes, I don't know how much will be done by then (this build might take a few days...the plan currently is for literally everything but the jump and maybe the DFD to change), but it should be open by noon.
Problem is the steepness of the trail, that mixed with hundreds of kids hockey stopping their way down the trail in front of it. It gets buried (both the lip and the rail) very easily, we try and dig it out every few days but it's one of those things that's hard to keep up with. That being said, it is super fun there...but I eventually want to move it somewhere so it can be set up as a true urban on with a flat deck in front of it...I really enjoy it that way, but not this time around.
Just watched the vid of the day from yesterday, and the S looks like it's setup with wayyyyyy more leeway for the tips than last time! Everything looks killer, super stoked.
