Flat 3 to cork 7?!

Last week I was at ramps in Lac Beauport Qc and a few of my friends convinced me to hit the triple( the big scary arials jump). We were there for a week and i hit it on the first day(big oldd rodeo 5). on the last day i got convinced to hit it again. This time i had to go for the kang( dub rod/flat 900 for all those nobs) landed it.......
A bunch of people missed it and one of my friends missed the shot. so i went and did it again but opened up after the first flip and started spinning, At Apex i opened and i thought i was gonna land flat on my face cuz i dint have enough of a flippy set.
Somehow i landed on my feet doing kinda of a wobble cork. I know it wasnt the cleanest and i know someone has actually done it on snow but i found it pretty cool and i think that more double variations like this should be done on purpose and not by accident.

Cool idea for sure, but its super aerial-ish to me. It'd be hard to do that trick and hold a grab the whole time ya know? Props for putting it down though.

Possibly, but to go from flat 3 to cork 7 you have to bring your hands up and change your momentum, like an aerialist would do.

It could be possible to start out with a Japan, then throw one arm up to switch your momentum and grab safety. It kinda looked like what you did in the video.

It's literally impossible to go from a flat 3 to cork 7 without changing your momentum. You could do a flat into a dspin 7 (aka lay full aerialist trick) because you'd just keep flipping but you'd spin. I don't see this trick looking good.

I think it could be done without the arm flail, you could change the momentum by changing the grab perhaps.

your logic still makes no sense, a cork 7 isnt the same as a flippy flat 3..your comparing a flip with a spin, they will never be on the same axis

A jump that has that much kick you could possibly allow you to hold a japan grab throughout the rotation... The transition on the flat 3 to cork with that much kick would just require you to drop your shoulder without having to do too much other work, which would let you to hold a japan grab the whole time. The thing is the cork 7 would look quite a bit more flippy than the one in that video because you would just be using your shoulder and your head to set the cork causing it to be more d-spin.

I have no idea what I am really talking about, but i think in theory it could look good. But we don't make jumps with that much kick, so in order for the that double to happen it would require what you're saying which is that huge momentum shift to set the cork. Because a flat 3 off a jump with not that kick would set you in a awkward position to make a cork.

So in a rodeo, your feet go straight over your head?

Look at it this way. If you add more spin to a rodeo, it's a cork, therefore, cork = rodeo.

Let's see if we can break this down for you. Look at the two videos posted by Peedog.

On the rodeo video pause it when the skier is at 180 and you'll notice his chest is facing the sky and then if you pause it when he is at 360 his chest is facing the ground.

On the cork video pause it when the skier is at 180 and you'll notice his chest is facing the ground and then if you pause it when he is at 360 his chest is facing the sky.

These two things are the exact fucking opposite. Therefore if you keep blindly insisting that they are the same, everyone who knows anything about skiing will conclude that you are a clueless gaper who needs to read a beginner's trick tip guide.

anyways, corks and rodeos are each on a different axis. they are two distinctly different tricks that are set very differently. rodeo can be set a variety of ways, but each of those are very different from a cork.

and no, your feet do not go straight over your head. they sometimes will go above your head, but that goes into a discussion about flat vs rodeo that i'm sure no one feels like getting into.

suffice it to say you're wrong.

What's a cork?
It's described as a spin thrown backwards over your shoulder
If that's what a cork actually is, then your feet would move up to the front and side, towards your back, and down in the back and side.
The cork you showed was feet going up in front and down in front

If you looked at the cork that I posted above, you'd see that my first statement above is true.

A rodeo is a "flip" thrown backwards over your shoulder.
In other words: the same as a cork.


Another thing is, a rodeo has no opposite. The opposite of a cork is a bio and the opposite of a d-spin in a misty.
So what's the opposite of a rodeo?
Simple. There isn't one. You could say that the opposite of a Rodeo is a misty, but then there's no opposite of a d-spin.

Nope - you're still really fucking confused about this whole thing eh.

When you throw a leftside cork you dip your left shoulder which means as you come around to the first 180 of the rotation your stomach is facing the ground with your head on the jump side, feet nearer the landing.

When you throw a leftside rodeo you dip/punch your right shoulder which means as you come around to the first 180 of the rotation your stomach is facing the sky with your head closer to the landing and your feet nearer to jump.

They are opposite, not the same. You have to be retarded to argue otherwise.
