any hyperlite, liquid force, ronix combination will do just fine. Def closed toe bindings

All the bindings I've used are open toe and they work just fine for me. Someone care to explain?

yea, whats the difference? Ive used both and havent noticed a difference. Except that I think open toe are easier to get on since you can get some lubricating water or other compound in when your foot is stuck halfway

The theory is that you can get more pressure/leverage on your heel edge by raising your toes. I prefer them to open toes because once I landed in the flats and my front food slid forward through the opening which made my knee bend the wrong way and resulted in a broken tibial plateau and surgery. Shit was weak.

Closed toe give you more of a feel for the board. You have more stability when you land bigger tricks and you can get a decent fit as opposed to the 'one size fits all' of open toe which makes riding more comfortable. I rode open toe to begin with but one foot always came out of them when I took a bad fall because of the sketchy fit. Fucked my knee up twice doing that.

There isn't a huge difference as a beginner but it will save you money in the long run if you buy closed toe now instead of realising you need them later on.

Also, ever seen a pro ride in open toe bindings? Aim high!

Somewhat of a subject change,  The open toebox in the newer SPK pro models felt the same way for me, I found the open toebox to be less responsive compared to my older SPK's because of this.

However personally prefer open toed wakeboard boots, I have the Shane Bonifay open toe pros from a couple of years ago and they are my favorite boot so far.  I found that the close toed boots had water stuck in the boot when riding.
