ACL knee injuries often occur as a result of traditional bindings having a single pivot point near the heel of the boot, making them insensitive to forces entering the ski just behind the boot heel during backward-twisting falls. Pivogy is the world's first and only binding technology that features a dual pivot. This dual pivot technology enables the binding to accurately read and react to forces along the entire length of the ski by shifting the boot's pivot and lateral release points between the boot toe and heel. The result is a dramatic reduction in torque to the knee during backward twisting falls.
The rigid aluminum Powerframe creates a stable, solid, flat platform for the boot to rest completely independent of the flexing ski. The Powerframe's rigid central mounting then transmits the boot's energy down to the center of the binding to the center of the ski. The result is powerful, consistent pressure distribution to the center of the ski while allowing the ski to freely flex underneath for an incredibly smooth, stable, powerful ride.
Traditional bindings' lateral toe release pivots are located in front of the boot (outboard). Our innovative Inboard Retention System (I.R.S.) places the lateral toe and heel release pivots under the boot. This inboard system is designed to increase boot retention, independent of your DIN twist release setting. No more need to double up your DIN settings.
