Over-priced shipping

Ridiculous

Whenever I order something they make me pay about 6-7 dollars for shipping, and when I get the package it has a shipping sticker that says around 2-3$ this is pissing me off so much.

Anyone else have this problem?

this. You have to factor in cost of box, labor to pack the items and ship them. That and many sites do pretty big tiers, like 1to5 pounds is one price, 5-10 is another, etc.. so a 6 pound package you pay the same as a 10 pound package to ship.

What are you shipping that costs 6-7 bucks?

Because honestly, that's not much at all if it's like a jacket or something smaller. If I want to ship any clothing or outerwear from the U.S. to Canada, it costs me usually around the $30 mark. And shit, these new NS store items are $40 to get them to my doorstep. That's an expensive hat or T-Shirt by the time it gets Here. Don't get me started on hardgoods either. Pretty expensive. Nature of the beast I guess.

So, here's a little plug for D-Structure, thanks for providing awesome prices accompanied with cheap and fast shipping for Canadians. You guys rock.

International sucks, but that still sounds like you pay way too much. I can ship 2 seperate pairs of skis for $40.

try living in canada, you can get charged like $20 for shipping and then often even another $20+ from the stupid border taxes

no way, boulder to south carolina for a 40 pound oversize package with say, 3000$ of insurance coverage will run you at a minimum about 94 from fedex, 105 from UPS and 125 from USPS. I ship about a bike a month, you're not going to get anywhere close to what you are claiming. even if you split up into separate wheel/fork box and a frame only box to get rid of the oversize surcharge you're looking at about 60-70 bucks with insurance.

insurance is .85 cents per 100 dollars value, and I think 3k is a conservative estimate on a downhill bikes resale, so inurance alone on that package is 25.50

ah, bike boxes are a 12 pack of pbr, so 8ish dollars, and I ship through work and then paypal the balance back, so I get better fedex rates. and it's still so expensive to ship things, especially in the last two years the rates have spiked so much.

Try buying on ebay. Usually big sellers can't get away with it these days they'll get bad feedback if they overcharge.

That said shipping things is a ripoff and can be super pricey if you aren't a big company who gets a much lower rate.

I listened to that awesome Fed Ex commercial with the most dangerous band in the world that loves golf and decided to ship my clubs to Vegas instead of taking a large golf bag. 80 fucking bucks and I sent it Tuesday and didn't get here until today (Monday.) Motherfuckers.
