Adding a Camelpak to my backpack

So I just bought a black diamond outlaw avalung backpack and noticed it said it had a place where you can add a hydration pocket such as a camelpack. Would a Camelpak stoAway 100 oz or a unBottle 100/70 oz fit in the backpack? If not what would?

Camelbak uses a right angle spout so if your pack has a sleeve, you probably wont be able to zip it up all the way and it will freeze easily. I have an older camelbak reservoir that has a straight spout that fits, but it will be harder to find an old one. The thermal tube kit uses a straight spout, but it is very leaky and still doesn't fit into the sleeve on my dakine pack.

What you should do is go down to your local outdoor shop (REI, etc) and take your pack with you. Look for reservoirs that use a straight spout. You probably wont be able to take them out of the packaging so just compare the shape to the size of the area where you put the reservoir.

I personally like smaller reservoirs because I like to only fill it 2/3 of the way full and suck the air out, so they seem to distribute the weight better than larger ones with this method

^i like the design of the osprey ones. They still use a 90 degree spout, but you could get the insulated tube which looks like it would actually work outside of a pack's sleeve

Is the tube secured somewhere or does the whole tube just hang in front of me?

Also can you remove the clip from the insulated tube? I feel like there's no where to clip it to. And would the insulated tube still fit in the backpack's shoulder strap?

Platypus or MSR has some decent bladders, in all different sizes, just go find one that fits.

The platypus insulator seems like its going to work the best, straight spout, it won't freeze and its compact.

platypus makes great ones but MSR dromedary is by far the sickest because its something that you can use for backpacking and stuff as a regular lightweight water bottle or water storage container depending on size you get
