Does anybody have any documented articles? Not just "I heard" or a doctor told me? Because wrong info gets put out by groups against drugs. An extreme example is Reefer Madness or that story everybody's farther tells them about acid with the dude turning to orange juice. You have to find out for yourself sometimes. No need to do it daily or even weekly. But once you try mdma you will see why people follow festivals around.. it's awesome. Just have self control. If somebody gets addicted they were bound to become addicted to something similar eventually imo..

MDMA has Methamphetamine in it. The above link lists the effects of Meth. Meth is considered to be more addictive than heroin. There is no question that detox from Meth is brutal. There seem to be symptoms from Meth detox that are physical, but aren't the shakes and convulsions that heroin detox causes. Even if Meth is just psychologically addictive, it is still one of the toughest drugs to get clean from.

So unless the methylenedioxy somehow makes the methamphetamine less addictive, it would basically be the same as meth in terms of addiction.

Here's more good info on it. The last part has the most current usage information I've seen so far.

They are completely different drugs that have similar names due to a similar molecular structures.

I'm not expert in this. But I took a basic uni course on drugs that shape society last semester and from what I've been told meth and MDMA affect different neurochemicals. Meth affects dopamine and norepinephrine transporters (same neurochemical as cocaine). Whereas, MDMA affects Serotonin transporters leaving higher blood serotonin levels. Dopamine replenishes a lot quicker than Serotonin levels meaning the decrease of effects in continual use aren't as prevalent as in MDMA and serotonin.

The affects of MDMA decrease rapidly after prolonged use so much that it isn't feasible to drop every day as you won't get much of a rush unlike drugs like heroin, cocaine and speed where your tolerances build slowly.

it's like saying water and hydrogen peroxide are similar because of their similar chemical make up. drinking hydrogen peroxide will have quite a different effect to water, but the only difference is an extra oxygen atom per molecule

MDMA is just that -  MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methylamphetamine)

learn to read - that's not methamphetamine. Their compounds are similar but just a little change in structure changes properties.

I'm hardly an expert either, but if they are so different, then why is X regularly cut with Meth, Caffeine, Cocaine and other amphetamines? The dealers are pretty good at coming up with cuts that are cheap but give a similar high.

Dallas used to have a bunch of Acid/Ecstacy attitude bars. They were pretty funny because there was no dancing, but they blasted house music. The music was so loud that you would have to txt each other from across the table to have a conversation. Most people just sat at the tables, looked around, and occasionally nodded to each other, with pupils dilated the size of dinner plates. endtangent/

Anyway, it's pretty interesting what this chemist is saying about the supposed "Ecstacy" that comes into his lab.

pure mdma and ecstasy aren't the same thing. mdma is a single substance, the chemical buildup of which is similar to methamphetamine. ecstasy is a drug made up of mdma and other things (at least it should contain mdma. sometimes there's none anywhere near it).

also they don't give similar highs, the differences are pretty noticeable to anyone whos had mdma a few times.

Zomg MDMA is meth!!!!11!1! Take a chemistry class dude, and realize that popping x is entirely different than ingesting MDMA. So if you're golf to argue, pick a topic. You can't argue the health effects of MDMA with links talking about x pills cut with other things.

Sorry for the double post, but you need to check more sources than just Wikipedia.

Every other sources I have seen has the chemical name as: MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine). If the chemical name has methamphetamine in it, it is understandable that people might assume there is meth in it.

Anyway, we should all feel pretty stupid for arguing about this. Your chances of being able to get ahold of pure MDMA, are about the same as getting head from the tooth fairy. Based on the info I posted earlier, the Ecstasy you get will be cut and it is likely that it will be cut with Meth.

My bad for wiki'ing I see now on erowid that it's 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine. Still like the guy said with the water and hydrogen peroxide analogy a small change in the chem makes it totally different.

I get/used to get (don't use anymore .. or in a long while) pretty close to pure mdma, would have precursor chems if anything. It seems you really don't have much experience with it and yeah I'm done arguing too.

Like I said earlier use test kits. Never get pills either.

you need to learn what you're talking about first.

"-methamphetamine" is the same as "-methylamphetamine", ie an amphetamine with an extra methyl group. "3,4-methylene-N-dioxymethamphetine" is extremely different to just "methamphetamine", the clue is in their name. go look at a picture of their chemical structure, mdma has an extra methyl and two oxygens.

Seriously people, MDMA is one of the drugs that really causes almost no problems in society, it's fun, people are friendly on it, and it hardly ever hospitalises people.

The problems start because it's illegal, and it gets cut with shit, or people start taking other similar, but more dangerous, drugs to try and get the same effect.

Huck, just stop, you don't know anything about these substances. Pure MDMA when used responsibly is safe and has no detrimental side effects to the brain. You can't compare real MDMA to E(not anymore at least) or the shit that goes around every festival. Buy a test kit, and check what something is before you put it in your body, pretty simple.

Heroin doesnt have any damaging effects on your brain. Its Only the addictive lifestyle that is damaging. If you can keep yourself from being addicted (i just did some h this morning) then its nothing other than an incredibly fun hobby. Hey OP,

I have never personally done ex/molly but I have been in contact with the drug several times and I've been sober to observe the effects on those who willingly digested the drug .

IMO, people do it because they want to have a good night out. I believe that used in a responsible manner and in moderation the drug MDMA can be beneficial given the right circumstances.

Given that, I know dealers who cut the drug and turn it from MDMA into ex by adding the hdp 5 available at the drug store to make your head feel better the following morning.

All in all, I think MDMA's reputation presents itself as a drug you can take to have a stellar time and to feel a connection to the world and people around you.
