Ski slopes in Germany

So my friend and I are planning a trip to Germany, and want to do some skiing while we are there. The only problem is we have no idea where to go for a good mountain. If anyone knows any good places to go for some awesome skiing, it would be much appreciated.

one obvious option with two pretty nice parks is FELLHORN/OBERSTDORF

another mountain for park skiing in the region, which is pretty much mine and my friends favouite, is GRASGEHREN/ OBERMAISELSTEIN. they always have tons of creative features and is especially great when you are into rails and jibs. the park is not too large though

other options for park skiing would be nesselwang or steibis wouldnt really recommend them though

if youre looking for skiing outside the park ZUGSPITZE would probably be the best. unfortunately they got rid of their park though

Fellhorn is pretty awesome. Quite the nice park (2 actually) and also some offpiste stuff you can do. Other than that, austria isn't that much of a drive and you have limitless options there... Hit me up when you know when you are coming, maybe we can meet up!

where exactly are you planning to go? is it just for skiing? cause if you are close to the netherlands you can go to one of our slopes

we're probably gonna go to hannover, and then down to munich. Not sure if we could go to the netherlands cause the whole reason we are going to Germany is cause we both speak a little German.

I can support both of these! Fellhorn was my 'home mountain' for a year and it was sick. Great park, lots of fun terrain and plenty of chill homies.

Grasgehren is also a chill spot. Less of a resort so to speak, but they got a lil rail park more snowboard geared. From what I hear though, grasgehren has real sick pow riding cause there isnt too much skier traffic.

Definitely check out your options in Allgaeu. It's the southernmost part of Bavaria, extremely beautiful and great culture as well.

If you are allready in Munich, it might also be worth checking out some of the bigger stuff in Austria. I mean the Fellhorn is nicht and everything, but its not a "real" mountain. Check out the mayrhofen/hintertux area and so on. There is a lot of big stuff around there and its very accessible from munich (I don't think the drive there is much longer than the drive to the Fellhorn!)

echoing this point- sure there is skiing in Germany but the real mountains are in Austria and 2 hours from Munich will put you in middle of all of it.

Most people from Munich usually drive to Austria to go skiing. If you want to stay in Germany go with the options HolySchimmel and Smuffy already gave you. If you are around Fellhorn or the other resorts mentioned, tell me and we can take a few laps together haha.

Tons of killer stuff in Germany, but like the people are saying if you want to maximise your stay you might want to travel another hour south and ride resorts like Mayrhofen for the Park or Hochfuegen for the backcountry. Also Westendorf is worth checking out for some nice freeriding a clean park with big features and virtually zero crowds. There are some insane backcountry spots in Germany but it really helps if you know some people who can show you around.

many years ago i visited my aunt in the alps and i believed the place we skiied was Steinplatte, which was sick as fuuuck. quick google search gave me this http://www.steinplatte.co.at/en/snowpark-waidring-steinplatte-1.html look for edita from the place sorry bout formatting, posting from iPad

You could also go to kitzbühel or stubai which aren't to far away from munich

Yep great park and good scene in Flachauwinkl. Plus Zauchensee is around the corner from Flachauwinkl and there is some great treeline freeriding there; it tends to get double the snow that Flachauwinkl gets when it snows for some strange reason... something to do with the Obertauern pass.
