New bike

I am looking to get a new bike. I am interested in getting a single speed fixed gear bike that is very minimal and simple. I have been looking at this website for one http://www.bigshotbikes.com/ I really dont know very much about these types of bike because I haven't seen many around but I really like there looks.
If anyone one has any suggestion on these type of bikes or a good place to order one from I would appreiciate it alot. I have about a $400 price range. Thanks for your help.

I don't know anything about single speed bikes, but just by looking at them it doesn't look like there are many components on them. What would make one better than another? I feel like it has to be hard to have some innovative new technology when you are just working with one speed.

what makes you want a fixie? why not just get a normal road bike? when the back wheel turns on a fixie, the pedals turn. thats why its called "fixed gear". some people like that, but i really doubt you would like it. you have to be pedaling constantly. if you're looking into training, or long distance riding, i would just buy an average road bike

im not sure what your gonna get for around 400. some people in the group i ride with have the trek rig and it looks like its pretty solid

Fixies are not fun. At all. They are scary and slow and kill your knees.

With that said, i ride a SE draft lite and i realy like it for hilly denver roads. I only put it in fixed gear during the dead of winter for dicking around in my garage

I would rather have a regular road bike than a fixie in my opinion. Especially if you wanna do distance if there is any change in elevation. Fixies are fun to bullshit around on and do some decent sized rides on flat ground. After that you're fucked and would wish you have a road bike

I have a norco indie and it's an awesome bike for getting around. It's aluminum so not as heavy as some other commuter bikes, but still pretty strong. Plastic fenders for the winter. Everything bolts on with tools so it's safer locked up. Then I have a milk crate strapped on the back and I have two saddlebags beside them if I need even more space.

Also: check out Pure Fix Cycles. Cheap, good quality, and comes with a flip flop hub
