there are 3 main choices right now. look/rossi, line, and salomon.
look/rossi- look p12s or jibs/ rossi scratch - all pretty much exactly the same. many people say more durable than salomon. good release function. good elastic travel in the heel. and to the kid who said someting about lifters, if you can find them like this for cheaper, get them b/c you can just mount thme w/o the lifter and it's the exact same. this is what im gonna be using.
salomon - s912ti - lighter than the looks, but this doesnt affect much at all, i.e. you wont ever notice the weight ill bet. good toe piece, but the heel piece is worse for landing fakie, b/c people say it tends to prerelease some more. i also dislike these bindings b/c they are advertised as 'ti', but they dont contain pure titanium. they use an alloy that has a small ammt of titanium in it, that's why they're advertised as 'ti' and not titanium. it's not a bad alloy, but it's weaker than pure titanium and many people have been known to break the piece directly under the heel. i've personally held one of the 'ti' pieces in my hand and broken it in two with a little twisting. as long as you get these binding adjusted corectly (not only dins, but toe piece height and width), they are good bindings. i'd recommend them more for carving or b/c carving, and less for park. a good alternative for park is the s914. this is a bit more heavy duty and less likely to break
line - best release function on the market, but still a new product so it's obviously questionable. go to lineskis.com and check out the product videos. we had some of these come in a nearby shop and were playin with some floor demos lightly and managed to break it in two. this was prolly just a single instance, but it's hard to say. line has done tons of work on this binding and im super impressed with what they've come up with, and im definetely puting these on my next skis cause i cant afford to destroy a knee now.
hope this helps you out
