If you could pick any resort out west to go to for the full western skiing experience where would it be? I want to go out there for the first time in December and I'm wondering where I can get the best full western skiing experience. Thanks fellows.
I would go to Jackson or Mammoth because they both get good early season snow. It also depends if you want a park or more all mountain skiing experience, they're both epic!
I went to 2 of the best park resorts out west Breck and Park City and while they are better then east coast parks if your going out west go to somewhere for more big mountain skiing. You can always ski parks here at home you literally cannot ski anything close to the big mountain stuff they have out west.
While all places out west have some nice big mountain stuff compared to the east this year im going to Jackson for the full big mountain experience.
Squaw, Jackson, Taos ,Big sky/moonlight, Crested butte, Telluride, Mammoth, Silverton, Whistler, Revelstoke, it all depends where the snow is because most extreme terrain takes a lot of snow to cover.
Wolf Creek, Targhee, Baker and maybe Whistler would be safer bets for December since all of them usually get 100% open by then and all of them have some pretty good terrain also. But if snow is not a limiting factor definitely go for the ones listed above.
Insane terrain, ridiculous quantities of snow, the nicest bunch of locals you'll ever meet and the best Burgers in Washington State. Get up early though, blink and the pow is gone!
ya im not trying to ski any park since I can do that at home....I just want to shred the biggest and baddest terrain haha but thanks for the feedback fellas!
