Differences in Slow-Mo

I was wondering what the difference was between these two edits were regarding slow-mo. In the first edit, the slow-mo was kinda of lagging and not as smooth as the second edit. I'm confused on what the problem was, whether it was the camera settings or the editing software. Either way they were both sick edits!


Sparknotes: Why was the first edit's slow-mo more lagging than the second one?

frame rate was too low in the first one, e.g 30 fps slowed to 15, whereas you don't want to bring it down to less than 24, e.g the 2nd one was probably 60fps to 24.

im pretty sure it is the frame rate. the first one is laggy because the frames per second is too low whisch causes it to be laggy the more frames per second the more fluid the footage will look.

Most likely a framerate difference. That could come either from your camera settings or from how the footage was imported. If you arent careful sometimes you can import your footage and lose half your framerate.
