i ask because several top level athletes were on the team before, and got the shaft when they closed up shop. i was interested to see if any of them plan on returning, and if not, who will fill the void. but fuck me, right?

i would imagine that if they are operating as the same company (ie no one bought them), they would still have to honour all contracts they had signed with their team.

this will be interesting to see how it plays out

Coreupt had an outerwear line that was quite unsuccessful that cost them a good amount of money, and since their team was so big and stacked they did not have enough money to continue as a brand.
At least I think this is what happened, any confirmation on this?

What happened was something like this: The owner got divorced and his wife basically screwed him over and left Coreupt without any funds to pay expenses, therefore they had to file for bankruptcy.

Seriously, fuck coreupt. There are so many great companies that do so much for the ski industry, coreupt is just auto industry investors pushing a company that they hope will be huge so they can make a quick buck off a rising industry. There's a good reason they couldn't hold onto athletes the first time around, why would this be any different? Give your money to a company that will give it back to the industry.

I thought they went bankrupt before they even launched their outerwear line. In the story I heard, Coreupt lost their investor after developing and dropping £££ on their outerwear line, and as a result were forced to file for bankruptcy. I just assumed they were broke before it even launched. Can someone confirm either way?

I wonder how much Coreupt would be willing to spend on athletes that didn't seem to move a lot of ski's for them. It would seem smarter to build a name making good ski's in shapes that people want. As I stated before, for every 10 kids in the midwest that blow a company because of their team 9 will just buy price point ski's from someone else.

People with money to spend generally don't give a shit who is on the team.

this actually matters a ton in the park ski game, as most of the business comes from young kids who see e'dollo or wallisch on a certain ski and then get their parents to buy them that ski. the team matters

The team also matters not just for the skiers name but also to generate content that the brand can use for promotions. you can have the best skis in the world but if all your ads are just picture of the skis standing alone they aren't like to get a lot of attention.

OMG! YES! I couldn't be more stoked that Coreupt is back in business! The only thing more exciting than watching skiing is watching ski companies crash and burn. I cannot wait for the second Coreupt train-wreck... hopefully it'll be just as chaotic this time around.

like look at nordica, i bet so many kids will drop their money on those cos there has been so much publicity.. no publicity without a team. i swear most of the advertising that ski industry manufacturers do is pretty inadvertent so they're not really in your face "BUY MY MERCHANDISE"

also alot of coreupts revenue came from rental skis in europe. they supplied ski republic with a lll their twins so the business model has a pretty soft cushion to fall on.
