I've been working all summer and set aside some cash for a stabilizer this winter. I have a t3i with a battery pack. Lens will be a Tokinia 11-16 and Tamron 17-50. Last year I filmed with a t3i (no battery pack) 17-85 Canon and my stabilization was a monopod. I was able to film for numerous hours with it and actually be able to produce some steady shots. (It was my first year of filming). So after a lot of research, I've came down to 2 choices of stabilization:
1.) DSLR FlyCam: $200.00
2.) PNC GearBox Cage: $100.00
Here are my thoughts. If I buy the FlyCam, I will obviously put the time into learning how to balance and how to shot with it. It will be a little different from the monopod but there is always that chance of me getting to frustrated with it. Now with the GearBox, you can see (if you clicked on the link) that there are two handles (grips) that could allow for more stabilization than my monopod. My whole thought on going with the GearBox is that I could be unique with it. (Ex. Tilted shots, creative transitions, etc. ) I honestly just need some advice on which path to go. Thanks for taking the time reading. Let me know what you think.
