Oh sorry, never actually checked the info on it haha.
This is such a nice idea, at 3$ I'm DEFINITELY getting it, Haven't gotten any ski movies this year unfortunately just because I'm cutting back a lot, although this is one I will not be missing.
There are heaps of personal vanity movies, screw that. Simon Dumont's "Transitions" anybody? Wallisch has been pretty spread out over the past few years, fuckin amazing to see him focus on one independent part this season and do it proper.
Why? There really isn't much more to show. It's a short film dedicated to Wallisch. The full runtime of the movie is 9 minutes and 11 seconds and the runtime for the trailer is 53 seconds. 53 seconds of 9 minutes and 11 seconds is a trailer that is 9% of the length of the movie. A typical Hollywood movie is 120 minutes with, let's say, a 2 minute trailer. That 2 minute trailer of a 120 minute movie is 1.5% of the length of the movie.
I thought the trailer was epic and I'm stoked to purchase it when it drops.
I think the fact that it's only eight minutes long is a good thing. Would you rather have a movie that run's too long and gets boring (cough PBP), or a short movie containing back to back to back bangers?
Yeah I'm sure if Decker wanted to create a "full-length" film he could have included about 12 minutes of worthless filler bullshit, like every other (just MSP mostly) ski movie out there.
It's gonna be 8 minutes of fucking hammers. Kind of like that new Bob Burnquist edit. My jaw was on the floor from the first shot to he last shot. I imagine this as the ski-version of that. At least I hope so
Inb4 Tom 1UP's Bob by doing a 450 on 600 out on moving helicopter blades. I think you're right though, this project will be straight fire from start to finish, JUST like Bob's edit.
You know what I realize I want from wallisch? 9 straight minutes of footy. One song. No interviews, no intros, no nothing. That would be intense as fuck.
Don't forget he would have filmed with Sherpas too and probably Field so there will be more than 9 minutes of Wallisch coming out in the next few months.
That's a different triple to his Whistler one last season. Looks like he's the third to have forward and switch trips (bobby, henshaw)
...yeah that's the problem. Those "weekend edits" should be 45 seconds long. But since you're basing your standard off of what kids on NS do, I'm gonna go ahead and guess you just don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
An eight minute edit for one skier from one winter is more than long enough.
No no! The Wallisch project looks dope. I was referring to the Burnquist Edit. I thought giant show boaty features with gimmicky tricks left skating years ago
well....no. I wasn't thinking with a clear head and just posted the first thing that came out. I didn't realize that it was only 3 dollars also. Now that I actually think about this is a cool idea. It's just like a long banger segment.
Why does the cost matter? You're saying that one skier should get 8mins of shots EVERY WEEK? This isn't a video of tom skiing park you know that right? This is 75% of toms season packed into one seg (vs filming 5-6 segments with different companies). It's going to be one of the best segments ever made, but I wouldn't expect you to appreciate that.
