Looking for some skis for my brother, he likes both these skis but I need an opinion from Newschoolers.
105 lbs
5' 5" tall
50/50 jumps rails
Skiing wisconsin so basically ice.
Which do you guys think is the better pair of skis?
Inb4 recent nordica hype train, but if they really are the better ski than thats that.

I rode the Rossi Scratch last season and can definitely speak in favor of it. They're a stiffer ski and I found them to be very playful and stable. They railed on hard pack with a center mount and held up well besides two minuscule edge cracks.

Did you ride lots of rails on them?

I had the s4jib(same thing as scratch) and those edges where god awful. After about 25 days i was missing 2 inches of edge and had many more cracks. I do ride a lot of rails since my park is all rails and no jumps. They are very good skis but the edges suck.

I probably rode about 60/40 rails vs. jumps.

The scratch design has not changed since 06 or 07, that tells you something. But like someone above said, Rossi uses paper thin edges. Only complaint about Rossi.

I found the scratch to be a boring ski, maybe I just wasn't a fan of its camber. I owned a pair of Ace's, awesome ski! Would definitely recommend the later to a friend

ethan, you should know that the ace has better edges. look at nick's scratchs for God sakes. he was missing all the edge underfoot at the end of the season

Scratches next year have a bit of rocker so if he prefers camber he could get any other year of scratches. Rossi edges are fairly thin, but the build quality of the ski is very high, so pullouts don't happen too often, my storms finished their 2 year run with about 15 edge cracks and no pullouts at all.
All times are Eastern (-5)
