Armada Al Dente: Yes or No?

I am considering pre ordering the new Al Dentes. I ski park 99% of the time and I tranny find the other 1%. I was just wondering what you guys think of the Al Dentes and whether or not they are worth buying.

They are a great ski, but if you just ride park I would look elsewhere. If you wanted an awesome all mtn park ski they are one of the best choice for next season, but if you purely ride park I personally would want something narrower and lighter. They are really really good but more suitable as an all mtn park ski in my opinion.

Depends if you want rocker or not. Personally I like a full camber park ski. Park skis rocker by them selves if you butter about enough. I ride the thalls for a few years an had ar6's before them. If want rockered then there is the alpha and halo.

I like to just butter around the park and do nollies and fun stuff like that, so the shape of the alphas and halos kind of sketch me out because i feel that the tips will dig into the ground and i will eat shit. are they good for doing that stuff?

For what you want to do I would think the thall would be a good choice. It's really buttery and you can nollie And olie it really easily. Rockered park skis tend to be stiffer generally so although the rocker makes it easy to get on the tip and tails easily I tend to find them less playfull then a soft full camber ski.

I honestly would not consider the Al Dente an all mountain ski. They really are noodles. I would personally only ride park with them. They handle fine on rails even with the wide waist.

The rocker is great for buttering and the minimal camber underfoot is awesome for surface swap and switch ups.

These wouldn't be my everyday ski because I like a stiffer ski, cambered or rocker. Tom have you skied the Al Dente?

Yeah I'm planning on getting them. I'm 5'11 - 6'0 and I weigh 150. Do you think I should get the 178 or 188? I want the ski to last me 2-3 years, do you think I will get sick of the rocker?

Yeah I spent a day on them last season. They are a great ski I loved them but I really thought they were best suited to all mnt. They rip a turn really well and it was pretty firm when I skied them. For reference I tested them at whistler in feb. I tried the 188 though so maybe that was part of it. I tried the other armada range too along with a lot of next seasons skis and would put them up there with the best all mtn skis of next season.

I ski 70% park and the other 30% is flipping little booters on other trails or nose buttering other little natural rollers.. I guess I shouldn't have got the Al Dente. Personally, I like the width for swaps and have had no issue with weight. I understand why people would probably say it's not great for park but I love it on rails so far!

hmm i would be interested to know if anyone has ridden the 188 length.

I have the 188s, I'm 6'2-3ish and I love it so far.. I mounted them factory and it hasn't hindered my spins and flips.

I would not get these skis for park. I went to the shop with the intention of buying some but the edges are super thin compared to any other park ski I could find in the shop, they will crack fast.

Yes this is true, it's a bummer... I love these skis though, just wish instead of 2.2 edges they would have 2.7ish.

I rode halos for a season, cracked the edges,so I bought aldentes.... Rode them once and a day later sold them and bought halo 2s, dont get aldentes if you ride only park, they are bulky, and heavy, get halo 2s, best ski ever.

Same dimensions are everything only difference is that the AR7's are stiffer than the Thall's.

trust me they wont last you that long, unless you dont hit ANY rails. the edges are 2.2 and youll get screwed your first year with them
