I made an edit with a canon t3 not t3i. I found a that t3 cheap so trying to save money bought that not thinking it didn't have great video quality. So my question is do every canon cameras use the same lenses.
The only time a Canon EOS lens will not work is when you try to put an EF-s lens (like the T3 kit lens) onto a EOS film camera, a 5D, 6D, or 1D body. Other than that, you're good with any canon lens since 1987.
yes, all canon cameras use the same mount, which includes the t3 and t2i. The only trouble would be going full frame (5d mark ii/iii etc) with ef-s lenses, which only fit on the t2i/t3i (and other crop cameras). Lenses are the most important part, so people often invest a lot of money into them, and then get new bodies as needed, which is essentially what you are proposing.
If you are getting a t2i, use it for both. I'm pretty sure its equal if not superior to the t3. If I were you, my plan would be to sell the t3, get the t2i, and use all your current lenses with the t2i.
I just may do that. I'm gonna wait a couple years before I do that though. I'm not that good a skier yet so ill just wait until my 1 year warranty is up then sell it and get that t2i. How much do you think I can get outta that t3
Does the warranty have anything to do with skiing? Honest question, because it doesn't cover snow. You will get more for it now than in a year also. Prices are all over the place, and it depends if you have a box/lens included or not. This could help you get an idea though. I just sold a lens locally, I found that it helps to price it right around the middle, maybe just below what most are going for, that way people are more likely to buy it and you don't have to keep sitting on it for months.
Here is a link to the last sold listings for used t3's on ebay:
The warranty doesn't. It covers everything. That's what it said at least. I got a really sweet deal though. Like 550 plus an 80 warranty for the body two lenses a bag a tripod and a ton of like free classes so if I put the camera in the box and gave the free lessons don't you think I could get like 300 for it?
It really depends. If you can transfer the warranty (usually you can't), then it would be worth more to a potential buyer. Personally I prefer to sell locally if I can, so look on craigslist, post it at like $350, and then if no one bites change it to obo or $300. Are the free lessons on DVD?
