There's a movie called steep on espn classics right now
Great movie. Anyone who calls themselves a skier should probably watch it. It goes through the history of big mountain skiing pretty in depth, and it's got some banger shots. I think it's on youtube as well, if Im not mistaken
I used to sneak away with my friends nearly a decade or so back in high school and get hammered at Mount Snow and watch this movie and others like it (Salad Days etc). Man those were the days...
My friend Matt has a condo right near the base, and we'd go up when we were 15/16 sans parents and just have a sick time. In the basement, there was this TV with an old VHS player and some old ski movies down there. We'd drink, smoke some reef and watch some good ole fashion ski movies. Then sometimes we'd wake up the next day and there would be a surprise 12" of new snow on the ground and it would be like Christmas morning.
Moral of the story is if you're 15-21 years old enjoy your time, these will be some of the best years of your life. Pop in an old ski movie, ditch your gfs for a night and hang out with your buddies. Nothing better.
No, you're just a fucking liar. The movie has pretty heavy parts dedicated to Shane McConkey and Doug Coombs which makes it blatantly obvious that the movie wasn't released anywhere near Salad Days...
but then again that would require seeing the movie which I highly doubt you have done. Lying piece of shit.
Thats not entirely true. Shane did have a seg, but saying that part of it was dedicated to him implies it was something like his memorial segment in IN DEEP, but it wasn't. He passed a few years after steep was released. it did come out right after Coombs passed, which was in 2006. I would say that that was almost a decade ago. And lets say he is lying, who really cares anyway?
Oh well I guess his wife crying and remembering Shane was all just an act, right? I never said it was a memorial segment like the one in MSP's movies... now you can see the level of intelligence I'm dealing with here.
I have this movie on DVD....found it at Best Buy of all fucking places...was browsing for dvds and was like, woah, a fucking ski flick...at BB? Had to buy it. Great movie.
