I need Color Correcting insight

Hey Media and Arts people, I have a question. I have been looking for a simple program for basic Color-Correcting. I have tried Adobe After Effects but it was too complicated for me (noob status), so now I'm looking for something a little more basic. I have Final Cut Pro X and I have played around with the built-in color correction tools and they were too simple. I need a little more than FCPX, but less than After Effects.
Thanks for any help and +K for helpful replies!

Why not just spend a little time learning after effects? It's not really that hard and can be pretty powerful. Rather then getting another program and trying to learn that, just learn after effects. Try video copilot there are some great tutorials there.

I personally grade with Magic Bullet (presets are shitty), it's a powerful addon to after effect or/and premiere pro. I prefer using MB in Premiere Pro since I edit in PP.

Usually just messing around with the "curves" function will be enough, look up some youtube tutorials

Yeah colorista II is fantastic simple color corrector.
With the fcpx 3 way color corrector, you should be able to do alot. I grade most of my edits with basic 3-way in adobe or colorista II if i need some more options.
