Hey NS. I may have access to a 3d printer and want to print some pow baskets, does anyone know a link to the most realistic basket in the file that 3d printers use, I looked on thingverse but the only baskets there were were flat and impractical.
yo that's sick! i could model them and solidworks and send you and .STL file if you tell me the right dimensions of your poles and what you want em to look like.
what kind of printer though? some prints are super fragile
+ K to everyone. My moms boss's brother has a MakerBot printer. He said I could use ABS to print it so it should be durable enough. I think the shape would be similar to the line pow baskets. This is the one one thingverse, but it just looks like it wouldnt work very well
If someone can make a good design, I'll print out a few pairs and create some type of contest. Post pics of the ones youve created. I'm going to download autocad and try and make some park baskets, they may be easier the pow baskets.
Update: Lets make this a contest, post your best examples, park or pow baskets, and I'll choose the best ones in a few days, if I can get access to the printer, I'll print out a few pairs, the winner will recieve a pair or two.
OP is this the machine you'll be using?
If so, I would give up now. The stuff that comes out of that thing is not going to be durable enough for a ski basket.
Usually you would do it in inventor, but the file needs to be converted into one that a printer can use (i think its an STL file), it tells it how to make it step by step. Isn't there software that comes with the printer you can use though? or is it just that you were more looking for an existing design?
