2 year projects

Field's and Sherpa's 2 year movies are coming out this year, so im not mad.

That being said, I doubt it will turn into a big thing where everyone does it, an annual movie is quite important to the revenue of the smaller companies.

sherpas sorta upped the ante with All.I.Can so i guess those who have the financial security to do two year projects wants to try to see what they can accomplish.

i do not favor 2 year projects in general. art of flight gets a pass because it was insane

I mean Sweetgrass and Matchstick are both on that two year movie project hype. I just feel like I would much rather see an hour of footage each year rather an hour of footage once every two years

I think a 2 year project can be a good idea. 2 years of filming = more bangers. I really look forward to Fields movie this year and I think it will help them out a lot financially considering how it will be shown in norwegian cinemas, and the way they have marketed it, it seems like a lot of people from outside our sport will actually pay to see it. On the other hand I need my yearly fix of ski footage.

Some 2 year projects turn out pretty good, but I agree that its probably just a phase. At the end of the day, no one watches ski movies for their cinematography, its about seeing sick footage thats going to get you stoked for winter. and I dont think there's really any more banger shots in the two year projects. Take All I Can for example. It had some sweet footage, but It didn't seem like the skiing is what set it apart from all the other movies that were released in 2011. One for the road probably had better skiing, but the production value wasnt in the same place. Eventually people are going to realize why they really watch ski movies in the first place, and then the 2 year movie will be no more.
