Advice for not getting merchandise.

hello ns I know there are threads talking about selling/ buying at your own risk. but I need your help/ advice.

I recently bought a Canon t2i from a ns'er, with the lenses, and some memory cards. I have his number and texted him a lot about the deal and just friendly stuff. I called him and
emailed him various times. he agreed with the deal and said he would ship. I kept on asking for the tracking number and he would not answer, even though he said he was looking for it. he said he put one day shipping on it and shipped it last Sunday, and it has not arrived yet.

I payed with PayPal and I have record of the transaction.

anyone have advice?

Contact Paypal to get your money back before its too late. But in the mean time keep trying to get in touch with the kid.

did he go through usps? first off, the post office is closed on sunday so he realistically didnt ship then. its only thursday, so there is a good chance that he was planning on sunday, and didnt realize it was closed, and doesnt want to admit that he didnt actually ship them, which would explain the lack of a tracking number. its only been 4 days at most, so i wouldnt get too worried yet. just keep trying to get in contact with him and figure out whats up

did you pay through paypal for goods and services or gift? if you gifted it you may be screwed, but if you paid for goods paypal offers buyer protection so if he scams you, you can get your money back. i would wait at least another week before going that route though. you have 45 days to file a claim so no need to do it so soon, give him the benefit of the doubt for a few days

thanks guys for the advice, and yes i did pay for goods and services, the things is he wont even answer my texts and calls which makes me suspicious.

Yeah you can email PayPal, or even call them if you would want to. As long as you didn't send the money as a gift you should be just fine.

Alright I emailed PayPal and told them my problem. still no call, text, or email from the seller. In the meantime does anyone else have a nice Canon/ Nikon camera? t2i, t31, really any like these cameras will do!

Sadly stil no contact from the seller. Contacted to PayPal but they are taking forever to rosolve the issue, I am almost positive that I should get the money back because I update the PayPal message thing daily and he has not said one thing yet.

Anything  else I can do?

Had a problem with a NSer maybe 4-5 years ago. He didn't ship them and what not. Opened a dispute with Paypal and they eventually sided with me and said they would pull my money from the other members account. One small problem... The dude had emptied his account and Paypal told me tough shit and they would continue trying to pull the funds and it never happened. Paypals buyer protection is 100% horseshit.

Sometimes the cases take time. It is frustrating but whenever I have opened a case and gave them all the messages and stuff they always ended up siding with me and got all my money back. You should be ok.
