I am not a smart man, but I know what love is.

Seriously tho, Level 1 was around, PBP was around, but somehow this company managed to snag all of the top pro skiers at the time, and sew all their awesome shots into an incredible ski movie, with a bitching soundtrack, then just like...not make another movie? What am I missing (Im sure it is something obvious and dumb haha), but if someone could enlighten me, I would be super grateful.

Ostness didn't come out of nowhere and he wasn't a one hit wonder. He came out with tee time and clay pigeons as well.

Everyone and there mother has seen the tee time crash reel. Shit is legendary. I think the leviathan footage is from tee time as well. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

yeah, kris ostness is the dude behind clay pigeons, tee time, and the flying circus which are badass movies from 99-2001 under the name "wind up films" which are famous for being awesome and having tons of the legendary utah gaps in there

TBC was ostness plus....that euro dude... what's his name? someone fill in the blank here

TBC 2 was supposed to happen.

Henrik and Ostness ended up hating each other due to some sponsorship complications, I believe involving Helly Hansen? Whatever happened, Ostness ended up significantly in debt up to his eyeballs due to a sponsor pulling out.

As the other posters explained, Ostness was a pretty established filmed prior to TBC's production/release.

I do believe he is also credited to be the first skier with a pro model? Pretty sure he was also the first person to get a cover shot with twin tips. Might be mistaken, but I think this is true

Ostness also did 44 days, which is great too. The pow segment at the end where I guess it's him filming with a camera on a tall stick is so good.

Definitely not the first pro model. Maybe first pro model twin though. It was the Line Ostness Dragon.

Head was a major sponsor for tbc 2. Jon Olsson renegotiated contract with Head. Head spent all it's budget on Jon.

For that matter, Henrik Rostrup didn't exactly come out of nowhere either. He was one of the main guys behind Push Films, who produced Unity, The Scanners and Not Another Ski Movie.
