Summer is cool and all for a while because of the bikini clad girls and the warm weather, but then after a while it just starts to get old. The warm weather starts getting hot and the bikini clad girls just don't seem that attractive anymore. Summer setups are fun, but no substitute for the real thing. Then you realize that it will still be months before the first snowflake falls again. Anybody feel the same way that I do? That summer is just a waiting period for that next ski season?
Compared to winter yes, summer does suck. But there's still a lot of stuff you can do, enjoy what nature has to offer. Go hiking, fishing, cliff jumping, kayaking, etc. Try something new and enjoy yourself instead of moping around cause you can't ski for a few months.
Summer >>>> Winter. If you disagree, you're doing something seriously wrong. Pretty much everything about winter, with the exception of skiing and a few other activities, sucks. Being cold sucks, driving with the windows up and through slush sucks, scraping ice off your car sucks, having to wear boots, gloves, and heavy coats just to go out somewhere sucks, runny noses and chapped lips suck. Blegh. If it weren't for skiing, I'd move somewhere where it's warm all the time.
OP, go outside and enjoy the nice weather instead of sitting inside on your computer pouting about the lack of snow.
I mountain bike and skateboard and stuff, and I like warm weather, I just don't like it for too long. I go outside as much as i can, I mostly just hate being hot and sweaty all the time, because we have no A/C in Los Alamos.
i love summer, but this entire summer so far with the exception of maybe 5 days have been excessively hot/humid to the point of where my dog doesn't even want to run outside, and she's a pitbull with an insane amount of energy. summer is cool, but it's been way too hot for me to be able to enjoy anything outdoors. gotta make the best of what you have though
I freaking love the cold. I hate when the weather exceeds about 55 degrees. Even when we hit the end of winter, I dread the summer. I don't like the heat and I don't think anything in summer outweighs the glory of winter. If my wife wasn't so drawn to the heat, we'd be living in AK.
It got down to -2 this year where I live, with wind chill too. So I guess around -10ish? That sucked. You realize how much your jacket sucks at keeping the cold out.
yup. i like the cold enough to not mind the inconveniences that come with it. I have no problem with summer, but it's definitely not my favorite time of year
Haha I never understood why people don't like Winter because I live in California. Then I went to Eastern Washington... It's not sunny all the time and 50 is a warm day. Luckily I like winter though.
Learn how to do a summer activity. As soon as you pick up a summer hobbie, you look forward to it in the winter. I started golfing again 3 years ago (golfed a little when I was younger) and come march I'm hyped for snow to melt and hit the links. Same goes for kids who skate, pretty cheap sport i'd say pick up that, I did that shit all summer when i was a kid.
both seasons have their benefits. Winter has skiing and snow which is always awesome, but in summer the weather's beautiful and you have surfing, cliff jumping, beaches, and so many other awesome activities. And with the whistler glacier and places like timberline and beartooth basin, we can ski in the summer as well. It's a pretty awesome season to me. Let's all agree, fall sucks with no skiing and no warm weather.
To me, having an actual summer makes me appreciate winter that much more. When Im not skiing in the winter and trudging thru the city in freezing cold temps all I can think about is the summer and the beach. On the flip side in the hot and humid days of August I start thinking about weekends in Vermont.
Maybe I would like winter more if I didn't have school, but really the only thing I like about winter is skiing, and I only get to ski on the weekends, but when it actually snows down in denver its chill. When its like 30 degrees dry as fuck everythings dead and the sun goes down at 5:30 is when winter is the worst. But if you don't like summer like mentioned before you're doing something wrong.
Thats because you live in detroit. Theres nothing good about winter in detroit...theres barely anything good about summer unless you live in place like where i do.
