His opinion doesn't show up in his comment. He made a very bad argument in support of his country's decision to ban LGBT. Whether or not this is worthy of an entire thread and boycott is still questionable.

The argument is objectively bad because it equivocates propaganda.

People don't seem to understand freedom of speech.

You have the freedom to say what you want, you don't have have a freedom from any judgement based on what you say.


Freedom of speech is to keep you from getting arrested for speaking your mind. People seem to think that somebody judging somebody off something they said somehow violates that = retarded.

The argument of "Who the fuck cares" works much better than "Omg we have like freedom of speech and stuff".

Also it seems everyone is getting offended over something little, then you belittle what they're saying with, "Oh my god, that's wrong," then evolves to bigger and bigger B.S. and it's dividing everyone! Also, everyone welcomes each other with, "We have freedom of speech and stuff...yeah," and it evolves to, "We don't give a damn about your opinion. We don't like you. SHUT THE HELL UP!"

What I'm trying to say is that whatever we say on our mind about a topic, like human rights for example, we end up debating against other's opinions when we should respect who they are as a person.

Respect is earned. Also debates don't generally start out with posts like that. If you want to open a respectful dialogue that's fine, but if you post something like that you can't expect everyone to magically respect you.

If I say something fucked up about your family for no reason, I wouldn't expect you to say "Well I don't agree with your opinion but I respect you".

It just doesn't make sense. I think I understand what you're trying to get at, but you're really pushing it over the other side trying to be ridiculously accommodating.

your reading comprehension is a little of here. I never said that you should agree with his opinion...however you should respect that fact that people are entitled to their opinions no matter what. Can you "boycott" him if you want? Sure! But calling him names for having an opinion is no different than him calling you names for you having the opposing opinion.

You'll realize that that is how the world works one day.

I have no problem with people having opinions, that doesn't mean I should respect it. I don't want to boycott anything. I don't even think I called anyone names but whatever. Honestly just felt like arguing and this thread popped up and it was fun. Did I disagree with his post? Yeah, did I lose sleep over it? not really
