I think we should boycott LifeSteezeMedia until they apologize for what was said in this thread.

and more to the point, if someone has grown up in a country and culture which rejects homosexuality, why is anyone surprised to find out that he also rejects homosexuality? im sure hes just as offended that we think gay people should be in the olympics as you are offended that he thinks they shouldnt. we all come from different places and believe different things. rather than just crossing your arms and demanding an apology, either try to see things from another's point of view, or discuss why you may disagree with another person and how you might be able to make them see things from yours.

fuck demanding apologies... that's what 9 year old and politicians do.

It's also the internet, where there are no laws accept the rules of the website. LifeSteezeMedia didnt do anything wrong, they expressed their opinion. Weird that someone else in a different country has a different view than your cushy north american point of view.

In no way am I defending LifeSteezeMedia, what they said was wrong in my opinion, but everyone is freaking out and they didn't break any rules, people just get so butthurt when their opinion is different than someone elses.

That is quite the statement for a ski production company to make. Personally, i hadn't even heard of them till now. Is this a pretty common opinion among russians, or what? The whole olympians and tourist thing is pretty outrageous, i guess i didn't realize that they hated gays so much..

Understanding where someone is coming from is different than accepting that. If somebody is racist, I can feel for them to an extent because of how they were raised, but that doesn't make it okay to be a racist douche.

There comes a point in life when you have to take responsibility for the person you are. Everyone has some bad influence in their past, some more than others. As much as that can impact who we are, you can't use that as a crutch your whole life.

finding it extremely ironic how you all are saying the lgbt community deserves their free speech and freedom like everyone else, yet when lifesteeze speaks freely about his own opinion, everyone gets so fucking butt hurt. not saying i agree with their views, but they have just as much of a right to post what they think as everyone else with the accepted view does.

This dumbass argument always seems to surface.

He can speak his opinion. Like Heath said there's no rules against it (unless you cross a line into outright hate speech) so he's not banned. HOWEVER, free speech doesn't protect you from the CONSEQUENCES of that speech. And if you use your right to speak your awful, moronic opinion and people condemn you for it and refuse to buy your products, more the better.

Where the hell people got the idea that "free speech" means you can say whatever you want and no one's allowed to criticize your opinion, think less of you or decline to associate with you I will never figure out.

why not? why would I want to support a company that makes statements like this?

There are plenty of other companies making awesome edits and videos who do not make statements like LifeSteeze. I will watch and buy and upvote their stuff instead.

I think a boycott is reasonable in this situation. If you do not, then do not boycott them.

well you must have personal reasons for calling a boycott.

it's russia, who the fuck cares? what programming that anyone watches comes out of russia? It's not like they're going to lock away all the gays and have some kind of genocide, they're just stating it's not wanted in the country.

This shit happens in the United States in a region referred to as the south in case anybody forgot.
