Most Gaper Resort/Mountain?

Which resort has the most gapers? I think its either deer valley or vail.

I highly doubt it's one of the two you listed. There are so many more tiny mountains on the East Coast that literally have less than 6-7 runs and no park.

I would guarantee it's a bigger mountain. You know- the kind that gapers can really brag about and tell their friends how fucking badass they were when they "shredded" devil's fiddle etc. That's the true gaper anyways- the clueless moron that doesn't even know they suck and their gear looks ridiculous.

I have found that the highest concentration of people who really suck on skis that somehow think they are God's gift to skiing go to Killington, and probably Hunter but I've never been there so I can't say.

Most of the people on old gear at smaller hills are there because they are saving money. Notsomuch if you spent the $1800 on a season pass to Big K, nahmeen?

Gore for some reason attracts a lot of people from New Jersey, too, but it's a long drive to Gore from New Jersey. Also Gore attracts a lot of foreigners.

i would have to agree, after the vail takeover there has been a massive influx of gapers. plus you get all of the bay area asians and all of their kin to plow through the one main green one just out of the park and then we're the ones that get yelled at for "being out of control"

i think heavenly gets a good deal of them too.

I disagree with this, first of all deer valley sells out of tickets, they only let like 1k people on the hill every day.

I bet places like breck and vail put like 3-4k gapers on the hill over holidays.

It's actually not that bad.
I went to Windham for half a day last season, and that, hands down, has the most gapers of any mountain.

Not to mention, the park's a pile of shit.

I think Arizona Snowbowl has a real claim to this. Tons of Indians (from india, not natives) who live in Phoenix, snowboarders in jeans who trash skiers, and John McCain usually comes up for a day or two every winter.
Just imagine John McCain shredding a groomer.

If you include vail and bc in with the i80 resorts it has some of the best steeps, so NO, beaver creek has shredders.

Breck is the most crowded and popular.

Most I80 resorts are full of gapes.

Breck and Keystone take the cake though.

if you look at bachelor gulch and arrowhead then yes beaver creek is full of indian, mexican whatever ethnicity kind of gapers there are.

gotta agree here...i grew up at okemo and killington and ascutney, went to loon, jay and shit for college, moved out to breck and keystone, spent significant time at alta, park city, brighton area as well as tahoe, hood, so on and so forth....then i moved to scottsdale AZ and...


gaper to real skier ratio at AZ snowbowl is mind numbing. literally everyone there is a fucking gaper. EVERYONE. like....everyone. the entire city of phx drives up on the weekend. the one or two people you see elsewhere and make fun of, they are the 99% there. ts the most rediculous shit ive ever seen

i don't think the thread is so bad natured.

we all playfully make fun of gapers, but really i think we all know that "gapers" constitute the bulk of the money that goes into our industry and allows people like us to buy passes that let us ride a mountain with patrollers, park budgets, and avy bombing etc for a few hundred dollars and eat PB&J for lunch while families spend as much on a 3 day weekend as we do for the season

plus i dont think any of us mind when they lose their shit after we throw a backie or something haha

that being said, certain mountains have more or fewer gapers and it's an interesting trend-- i don't think it's necessarily a malevolent thing to offer opinions on it

I hope they get things together, put in a couple safer lifts. I don't think I've ever worked at a hill where I was legitimately scared of the lifts sometimes.

They have some good things going for them. I really enjoyed getting out of the parks on wed nights and some other days and helping start the races. Sitting on the face dragging around rails and seeing what trouble the kids are getting themselves into.

Idk, place has potential, just needs somebody who knows what they're doing and can capitalize on the opportunity to revive that place.
