Drop In TV series, but for skiing?

If anybody watches the show Drop In on Sportsnet, you'll know what I'm talking about. There are 5 mountain bikers who live on a bus for 60 days and travel across Canada and bike. They go on orban jibbing missions, build gnarly dirt jumps, ride parks, and do some north shore and downhill as well.

My question is this, why now a continuation or spinoff of this show for the winter, for newschool skiers? The network could recruit 5 sponsored skiers, make them live out of a bus, and they could travel in this bus across Canada all winter, doing urban jibbing, skiing at actual resorts in the park or otherwise, maybe sledding into the bc to build booters, and take a couple cat or heli ski trips along the way.

As well, pinkbike.com sponsors and supports Drop In, so this is where newschoolers.com could come in...

Judging by the success of Drop In, and by the number of skiers in Canada and elsewhere, I think there could be great potential for a show of this nature...

Drop In is on Extreme and it definatly is a sweet show and would make a sweet ski show but how do you expect NS to sponsors a ski version without giving money...

I wish I could get it but can't. Downloaded the whole first season offline. Man that would be such a sick idea with skiers. Plus there are soo many mountains that the show could go on for years.

Drop in is an awesome show. I don't even bike and I watch it all the time. I always thought a winter on ewould be good but I think to produce a good show they should have a bus with skiers and snowboarders.

it would be a good idea. unfortunately Dropin is not produced by any networks..Its two guys from Calgary, and they have had to bust their asses just to get any networks to run the show. they barely have enough money each year to keep it going. you want to set it up? here's how:

1.) write a proposal, outline your project. Include all of the numbers, target audience, distribution, effective reach, market research etc...
2.) have experience as a director or producer, at the very leat have a sick demo reel that you can show as credit to your abilities
3.) send said proposal to prospective sponsors, both inside and outside of the industry. make a list of at least 50-100 companies.

bottom line, you need to know your shit and have a lot of time. I have been thinking about something like this for quite some time...but right now i'm finishing up an mtb movie called 'The New Deal' and starting pre-production on another film. anyone who is qualified: have at it.

the sport of mountain biking is 10 times poorer than skiing. mountain biking as a sport is going broke, Smith dosn't sponsor bike movies anymore and oakley will only work with Derek Westerlund. Skiers should be happy with all that they have, because the majority of mountain bikers are getting fucked. after seeing how both industries work everyone should love skiing because it is the best.period

oh and pinkbike barely has any money to give to the dropin guys

it's a sick idea, and i don't think you'de need a lot of money to do it. you can take not big name skiers around cause they'll do it for free, and you can easily get some cameraman who'll do it for free. all you'd need money for is to broadcast it and for food and gas and stuff.
