I am 29, and I was doing "D-Spins" back in 2001. They really refer only to a somewhat more inverted type of cork 7, and were really only used a lot back in the early 2000's, and that was before people just realized that it was just a more corked rotation and started just calling shit corks.
For example, the only person that often uses the term D-spin to describe other tricks is Luke Van Valin, who will call a dub 14 a double d-spin, which is just plain annoying. I think that the simplest name for a trick is the best.
You could call this a switch rodeo 5 revert, or just a switch 5 revert (or "pretzel," whatever). Ultimately it is a really rad 360.
As a side note, I think the term D-spin sucks because people only use it when the back is extended or opened up. Has anyone ever done a D-spin 7 nose and called it that? No. I think a d-spin is really just a cork seven that looks more inverted because the body isn't tucked up. That is why the term doesn't really mean anything, and probably the reason why it has been used less and less. I think everybody should just stop saying D-spin, especially for anything switch.
it's really sad how wound up you're getting about a name.
d-spin = cork with feet above head. that's the plain and simple of it. if it can be done forward, it can be done backwards. so a switch cork with feet above head is a switch d-spin. so this is a switch corked spin where feet go above head and the final result is a 360. so a switch d-spin 3.
As dumb as you sound I completely agree with you. Keep dsipins in moguls. If d spin was actually a term we used more than half of dub 10s and 12s would have to be dspins, which is stupid.
That said if he didn't do that fucked up tweaked blunt you guys would never consider calling this a d spin.
It's a switch rodeo 3 (or 5 pretzel 180). Deal with it
