This question always comes to mind and i haven't found a really good answer yet. I guess most genres would be alright but is there any that just ranks superiority over the others?
I love an edit that uses a classy old school song. Like when sean pettit used for your love in his realski backcountry edit. Which btw was absolutely nasty
I actually really enjoy an edit that hasn't got that generic NS edit rap. It has a time and a place, and in some edits it works really well, in others it seems like they've chosen it because that's what is always in an edit.
youll find that the better edits usually wont be edited to gangsta rap, a few exceptions ofcourse. id say that its a alot harder to edit to the likes of Alt-j because the filming needs to be good aswell which i why youll find alot of people use rap
Its totally dependent on the type of skier in the edit. Good rap sometimes works for park, but not always. Classic rock and long rifts work well for big mountain. And playful and slower music I think work well for powder edits. Doing something original is always a good plan.
Metal. Not shitty screamo bullshit, straight metal, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, shit like that. If you're not using metal then you're a pussy.
To me it depends on the edit and what style you're doing. I mean it's weird because some edits could literally change the total theme just by the music. Like some powder edits have really chill reggae or chillstep or just acoustic music, but you throw in dubstep or metal and it turns from calm to totally badass. It seems that the best music to me really depends on my mood.
>figure out the style of edit you want (fast paced, slowed way down, mix, whatever)
>find a song you think would be decent in terms of pace.
