I just got a GoPro, +k for help

Alright guys I am a COMPLETE n00b at this stuff... Just need to get the hang of it. It's a GoPro Hero 3 Silver Edition, does anyone else have it?

Any specific editing program I should get? Is it easy to get the hang of? How is the video quality? Is it easy to put in text and music? And can I make good edits with it? As in not piece of shit looking cliff jumping/fishing/skiing edits? Like funny ones haha.....

Adobe Premiere pro and final cut pro are both good editing software, and yes, you can insert music easily and other simple things like that are easy to do. Check out tutorials on youtube to learn the basics. Also look up Ian Provo GoPro edits and tell me if you can make good edits with a gopro. I dont have one personally but im sure with time you can become quite good.

I presumed it was a joke, that's me anyway.

How serious/much time are you looking to put into it? you might be better off with something easy, just a basic editor. You need to decide whether you'd rather have say, imovie/windows movie maker, or premiere pro/final cut.

Damn. Now I feel bad.

As for programs: check out Adobe Premiere. It's easy and straight-forward if you want it to be, but once you get more into it you can do SO many things with it. The options are endless.

WMM is garbage. My friend is coming over to put on adobe, a good program. Been filming for the past few days, and more tomorrow!

Adobe Premiere Elements is what ive been using for the past few years, its easy to use and does everything you need for a basic edit. It's cheap and far better than WMM, but since this is the internet you might as well torrent premiere pro.

For starting out I'd go with Final Cut Pro X, really easy learning curve but still enough features that you can get creative with it.
