Curious About Europe

So I know there's obviously a fairly large freeski scene, but where is it really apparent? I was thinking of trying to get a work-study type deal going on next school year, and would love to send it to somewhere in Europe, but I really have no clue where would have the best scene (skiing wise, people wise, and apres wise).

There are so many options. Do you speak any euro languages?
Are u after nightlife / park / big mountain ?

able to speak spanish reasonably well, but willing to get after any language really. it'd be a big plus to have a solid park, but i'd most likely lean towards big mountain. nightlife would also be chill but not totally necessary

Based on your preference of having good skiing, good people and a good scene, I'd have to second Innsbruck. It's got everything you want.

LAAX has good mountains, a dope park and good nightlife at least on the weekends but is pretty expensive
INNSBRUCK would be another great option with tons of sick skiing, both "big mountain" and park, and it is also a university town so the nightlife will be pretty good aswell. im thinkin about moving out to innsbruck myself

Well i'd second Verbier, i skied Innsbruck when i was about 6 so not much experience.. although only hear good things.

Verbier is great for big mountain but you'll face a lot of competition for fresh tracks. Pretty pricey and no good park. Innsbruck is a decent do-it-all choice if you don't mind commuting quite a bit.

Mayrhofen has decent park  as well as some awesome bc skiing around. The Hintertux glacier is a nice backup in a low snow year.

Bourg-St.-Maurice is an awesome choice too. Gondola access to Les Arcs/Paradiski right above with everything you would want. Val d'Isere around the corner (shuttle service) has everything too and St. Foy  gas great touring. Plus it's a lot cheaper than staying at the resorts.

To be fair, unless you're a Francophile, Innsbruck will beat out any other place in Europe for this sort of thing. Skiing literally on your doorstep, and within 30 min drive/train/bus ride you have some of the best mountains in the Alps. I've been all over the Alps, and nothing compares to good ole IBK!

So true. Been to the italien pat of the alps as well as some of the other stuff like verbier, gstaad and a few others and I have to say that the innsbruck area beats it all. You have park skiing from mid september/early october up to the end of july. And there is so much different stuff to do. You can choose between pretty big resorts and smaller family stlye resorts (for those crowded weekends) all within an hour of driving.

Sweden have a good variety of parks, big moutain tho, not so much, maybe one or two places

I've never stayed in Bourg, I've been up the hill a bit on the La Plagne side. The night life in the Arcs is absolute carnage, at least from what I've heard. As for the terrain, I'm more familiar with the stuff on the La Plagne side, and whilst it's good, there is better terrain in Europe.

I have been to val thorens, les arcs and val D isere. All places has outstanding night life if you know where to go. Val thorens has some of Europes best parks and the other places has pretty decent parks as well. The only negative thing to say is that the weeks that I've been there it has literally been impossible to ski fresh tracks in the bc without hiking a fair amount The opportunities in the bc are definitely really good. You just have pretty much competition for getting there

I think people are forgetting the work/study aspect here, I'm fairly sure most of the above mentioned resorts does not have a Uni or College.
