I'm assuming its a 4wd system over a RWD that is making the difference. I don't know trucks, but I do know that RWD pickups don't have much weight over the back end and therefor don't have a lot of torque.

why wouldn't the chevy be in 4wd...? and if it's a rwd truck then he's an idiot for getting a duramax in a rwd truck unless they don't make that in which case I'm an idiot.
Also, the TDI had a V10...
